Don't have any of those on my list? Mine are a whole bunch of finance.lycos.com servers. some have cc-07.sc8. Nothing with xx-xx.sc5 or 10. Acouple of others with cc-05.mia.finance.lycos.com. Still nothing sc5 or10. A few that just have IP addresses with the same IP given as the server description. They all start with 10.xxx.x.xx.xxxxx. Could this be it? I tried about 10 different ones today and also had Quotetracker running at the samr time to see if volume levels changed to match Qtrackers volume levels. Never did though... Hopefully I can blame my slow learning on this....
Look for the Santa Clara Servers (SC) 5 and 10. <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1558176>
The ones with SC (Santa Clara) in it are west coast, MIA are the Miami servers. Earlier I got all IP addresses as you mentioned. A few minutes later I got a better list. Sometimes it takes a couple tries. See attached. Generally the closest location is faster - but not always. I'm in New Zealand and MIA servers are faster from here (must be going the other way around the world, ) Larry Marchman on the Esignal/Qcharts forum has a program that lets you set Qcharts it to load the closest and/or fastest servers. Qcharts is supposed to jump to the fastest server (you select it to ask) but it never has in my experience. So he made a fix. My feed can go dead and it doesn't switch. Anyway, might want to give Larry a shout if it's an issue for you. Regards - EZ
BTW, since we were already on Qcharts for adding tick color, I updated the DOM bars and added a PRV request. Please chime in if your using Qcharts and would like to see an upgrade: http://forum.esignalcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=155
Ok, thanks guys, that worked - the SC thing. Who knows what I WAS using. Ezzy - the PRV thing - you mean like the tool on Quotetracker? That would be excellent. I've been thinking of running the QT thing just below the QC charts to get a quicker PRV bar to bar. Found it very interesting to watch that in relation to what was happening intrabar since I had it running today to check QC's volume. I'll definitely email them.
Yep, just like the QT tool. Someone here coded it for Esignal, and since Esignal owns Qcharts it shouldn't be too much trouble to add.
Two questions: 1. How do you go about selecting what server to use i.e. Santa Clara? 2. I have IQ Feed for the data on my Ninja Trader Simulator. The data will not provide DOM for simulating trade. Can someone recommend a different data provider for the NT simulator?
Hello, I have 3 questions: 1. Esignal doesn't do tick charts correctly so I downloaded QuoteTracker. I haven't yet found a button allowing QT to be "always on top". Has anyone found such a function? At work I only have one monitor and every time I annotate a chart, my tick chart gets hidden behind the main window. 2. Ezzy said that someone coded MAK's PRV tool for eSignal. I have never been able to find this code. MAK commented a few months ago in Spydertrader's futures journal that he was working on it, but unless I missed it he never posted the code in the journal. Does someone have a link handy? 3. Someone in this thread said that eSignal does not display the DOM correctly. I'm aware that the person who said this is a troll in the Hershey threads, so I wonder if anyone credible has any information on what, if anything, is incorrect about eSignal's DOM. Thanks, Jason
