Speaking of QT here's something of utility for those who use it. A few weeks ago CBOT and CME adopted a similar set of market times, beginning each day at 5:00 PM EST. The default times for both should therefore be "CME Globex" which is of particular consequence if one wishes to, for whatever reasons, use data from the premarket near the start of RTH. Prior to the above start time synchronization, the "CBOT YM" time frame was "different" than the "US Equities" time frame which gave rise to the condition that the former gave its first completed bar of RTH at 9:31 (9:29-9:31) while the latter was as expected, at 9:32 (9:30-9:32). This possibly traumatic set of conditions arose because the CBOT YM time frame used to start at 19:15 and if you work it through, any 2, 4, 8, ... minute bar is going to be shifted 1 minute when comparing CBOT YM to US Equities. Maybe that's why YM leads ES (ho, ho - just a little early AM levity) but it could explain why sometimes people's YM and ES signals were failing to mesh (however you might wish to interpret that). If you think about it, the prior time asynchrony also meant that the bars changed as you toggled from the old CBOT YM time frame to the US Equities time frame. There should be no more problems with this as Jerry informs me that the default for YM has now been reset to "CME Globex". lj
I disagree. Try setting both the YM and ES to 'CME ES, MID - Regular Hrs' Been using it this way for a year, had nothing to do with the merger.
I cannot speak to that particular time frame conformation as I have never used it and I will take your word that there is (was) no "shift". With the time frame conformation I was referring to, which was the one which I, and possibly others, were using, what I stated is (was) of consequence. lj
Hi Losttrader, I'm new to NT. Could you help me with the following? 1) is left chart space adjustable? how? 2) When I import your prv zip file, it shows "program errer", do I need to change any setting or code? I'm using the latest NT and iqfeed. Thank you. ericta
ericta, are you using the latest BETA version of NT (6.5.0.8)? Many of LT's NinjaScripts won't work in the 6.0 regular versions of NT.
ericta, you can adjust the blank space on the right side of the NinjaTrader chart by going to "chart properties" (either by clicking on the properties icon at the top of the chart or right clicking on the chart and selecting "properties"or using Ctrl + T) then scrolling down to the "Window" section (expand that section if necessary by clicking on the "+" ) and changing the "right side margin" value. I use 150 myself.
alt + left/right aroow to move chart back and forth or just use you mouse, btw, ctrl + up/down arrow to resize the bar width.
Hi eric, it looks like you got your answers already. If the program error occurred when you were import or compiling, then it is likely because you are not at the 6.5 beta version. Otherwise, need more specifics. regards...
