Is the str/squ on 1min or tick data?

  2. Does anyone has replay data for Ninjatrader (and wants to share it)?

  3. Well, here is a PRV for NinjaTrader, brand new. No guarantees...

But the logic inside is fairly simple. I wrote & tested it in 6.5

I plan to change my current futures broker, optionsXpress (good for options but poor for futures), and I'd appreciate your opinions about the brokers, charting and trading platforms you're using, or you've heard of and would be suitable for trading futures following the Hershey method.

Besides the usual questions regarding speedy execution, reliability, charting features friendly to the Hershey method, one button reversal orders, commissions, customer service, I'm interested in the strength of the broker, and if he offers account insurance against broker failure (IB offers something like $30 mil). Not kidding.

    Thanks!

  5. Hey cnms2,

I've been trying out a sim account with Open Ecry (for the second time) and I like it a lot. They have a very nice, clean platform. I know that Nkhoi has been using OEC for a while so you might want to pm him for his thoughts. For the real futures trading that I have been doing (although it has been somewhat limited to this point) I am using Think or Swim (TOS), mainly because that is where I do my options trading. I really like TOS's charting. Very solid, very stable. I will probably open an real ($) account with Open Ecry because their commissions are very good. I just got an email with a special offer that if I open and fund an account before 12/31/07 I will get a commission rate of $0.75/per contract plus exchange fees. That is one of the better rates I've seen. Another thing that I like with OEC is they have a nice DDE interface with Excel. I have built several models using OEC as the data feed. It seems to be very solid. BTW, I also had account with optionsxpress (for almost 5 years), but I switched over to TOS about a year ago because the TOS platform is superior and they gave me very good rates!:p So for trading futures, my plan is to use TOS for charting and OEC as my broker. Hope you find this information useful. Merry Christmas!!!:)

for drawing channel nothing beats qchart but I don't like their cost structure so I use ecry data feed with sierrachart instead, feed is free and sierrachart costs $24/m, discount available for multiple months. Other alternative is any discount broker that offers ninja chart with zen-fire feed, ninja chart drawing feature is below sierrachart but the data speed is a little bit faster than ecry speed.

  7. Here's a colored Volume with PRV as a bar extension, coded for Ninjatrader. I fixed it today so it works with market replay data correctly as well.

I personally like it better than the bouncing ball.

  8. In case anyone is interested, this colors the region just before inside bars and outside bars, to help with formation recognition.
