Been experimenting with Ninjatrader/Zenfire a little... I was hesitant to use Ninja for charting for a number of reasons, but then I realized how scriptable it is. I found a script for red/black volume bars here:

Now just need a PRV script and a STR/SQu script... Has anyone attempted this? It would be nice to consolidate to one program/feed.

I'm evaluating it too. I don't like that it displays my pc's clock and not the market's time, that it displays the end of bar time not its beginning time, and at least once I lost the volume gaussians for an unknown reason. So far NJ's charting seems inferior to QT's. But obviously if I compare it with IB's ....

Also, Zen-Fire doesn't offer historical quotes.

Ah yes. I will inquire about these things at the Ninja forum, where they seem to be quite helpful. I'm certain that Ninja's charting is technically inferior to QT's, but if it can be trained to do everything that QT does for us (via ninjascripting or what have you) it may be beneficial, especially for those of us who use ninja for order entry. Something about using one all-inclusive package is appealing.

Did some work on the code - here's my updated ES workspace:

    Pr0crast,

Is that the Ninjatrader free Simulator program? What about a Level II DOM display? Looks like it has great potential. Thanks!

The price of ninjatrader depends on who you get it from and what you use it for. Sim verison is free. Live version is usually either $50/mo or free depending on your broker. I believe Spy uses their software for its DOM and order entry. Attached is a pic of the DOM.

I guess you're using / are aware of the 6.5 beta version that has some fixes / added features.

I'm on 6.0 right now but I did notice one of the ninja guys saying some channel drawing bugs etc were fixed for 6.5. Is it worth going to the beta?
