Great! Thanks. Maybe you could ask Medved to also add a re-play feature, to be able to re-play the day at a later time, at variable speed. As long as they log all the data, they should be able to re-play from it instead from the live source ... It could probably be done by controlling the display clock, so QT could actually act as if it were 10 am, and all the charts and positions would actually show as they did at 10 am. That would allow for example to look at ES, and YM, and $INDU like in real time ...
No, it's not a problem of the earlier line being too close to be selected. The selection is accurate, but the copy function isn't applied to the selected line. Perhaps has something to do with buffer memory. I remember someone else having this problem months ago, and I think the only solution was to start a fresh chart.
When this happens I hit the "delete" key deleting the just copied object (the incorrect copy is already selected), re-select, and the second time the copy works fine.
Yes, that works, but on my main ES chart I now have to do it every time I want to copy a line that isn't the most recently drawn. But it's not the end of the world, of course. Otherwise, the new 'lock' feature is definitely a help, but I wonder why they didn't just make 'select' into a click-and-release, instead of requiring the use of the keyboard and other hand to not select. Also, I always get an arrow drawn using this method, which I guess is a teething glitch... I'd also love to see a playback feature, especially of the type you describe, but I think this has been requested for a long time now. As you say, the data is all there, you wouldn't think changing to a 'local' source would be so difficult to set up.
The guys over at Quotetracker need a big thanks on their constant professionalism, and really caring about the customers they have. Thanks for that fix guys.
Very true, I didn't mean my last post to sound negative. It's my favorite charting software, and has great support as well.
Yes, I start a fresh chart every week and have eliminated the problem. The same problem can apply to copying both lines and text.
I wanted to see if anyone has noticed a issue with using IB feed for T&S and Tick charts compared to a feed that gives every tick. I have been using MB Trading for my T&S and Tick charts but the feed keeps freezing for extended periods.
I don't know about IB, but I have been using MB Trading data in Quotetracker since May 2007 and have had very few data problems and no freezes on my tic chart or my T&S.
Bummer. I was hoping the problem not exclusively mine. Here is a screen shot from today's YM. Basically once the tick stream starts again, QT catches up with a big volume bar for all the volume it missed and zero volume for the ticks missed. I realize the volume was extraordinary today. But I see this several times almost daily.
