Hello, anyone here use amibroker as charting software? how do you deal with tick data/chart? Cause soon after I force backfill tick bars, most history are pushed out, left me with 1 week or so daily data! are you using 2 different instance, one for tic, another for history? Thank you. Eric p.s. i'm using iqfeed.
Mine looks like this. Chart type- Range Candlestick Bar range- 1 Chart period - 300 bars Hor lines -3,0, +3 100 SMA - to help "center" offset. Scale - absolute- set to -4,+4
Which DOM do you prefer? http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=97684&perpage=6&pagenumber=2 Mikeytrader: <img src="http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1489644"> or PointOne: <img src="http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1487995"> or any other ones not publicized here? any reasons you prefer one over the other? I have been using Mikeytrader's. I don't know how to take advantage of all the stats on his worksheet yet. I have used PointOne's before. I will give it a try again next week.
Anyone try QuoteTrader which was mentioned here some time ago? It has a DOM chart feature. I installed it but didn't have the patience to get it running. http://www.quote.com/quotetrader/
Bear, does this help, it's the fastest thing I could find http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1473161&highlight=squeeze#post1473161
I installed the latest version last night and it seems to produce a nice DOM graphic. There are other chart windows and order execution features, etc available with this but this is all I have set up. Note the eSignal data manager wants to run as default. I guess for charting, but since the DOM runs off IB data I shut it down to reduce overhead and the DOM seems ok.
