Gotcha, I think it would be pointless to get Ensign for just the 2min. FOr a complete setup that works right and is easy to use, it's about the best deal I've found.
Sorry Tums, Haven't checked back to this thread for a while. Here is my SS. IMO it doesn't display the info in a clear and concise manner. I have to study it to decipher its readings. Other than switching to another provider not much to do me thinks.
Guava, The issues with QT are the following: 1) if you copy a trend line, QT usually places the copied line very near the original line and when I try to move the copied line, it is the original line that QT moves. 2) If two lines are near each other and I try to change color/width etc of a line, QT always seems to select the other line. I have looked into the line selection and it seems QT gives affinity to the line that was created earlier when two lines are close to each other. In fact if you do it really slowly, you will see that QT actually selects the line you want but then suddenly switches to the older line. Take a look at the attached video. I created two lines - red first and green second. When the red is selected and I attempt to move it, it gets moved no problem. When the green is selected and I attempt to move it the red lines gets moved. 3) Text annotation is pretty hard. If I try to copy&move text, the text usually get resized instead of being dragged to new location. I started to stop doing text annotations during the day. These are minor issues with I have reported to them (including the video of it happening). Nothing major to be a huge hurdle to anyone, but I found I spent a lot of time "Undoing" changes because QT selected the wrong line.
My workaround: momentarily zoom in, do your edit / selection / ..., then quickly zoom back out. It's not elegant, but it works ...
Recently Moz posted an .avi file on Spyder's Futures Journal. When I played the file back in Windows Media Player 11 I was able to use the play-back speed controls. This is the first .avi file that has allowed this in my WMP. Moz said he recorded it with Camtasia. However when I tested Camtasia the output files wouldn't allow this so it must be a codec thing or? I just wanted to post this for the record. Rick
Yep that is what I did when I was using QT. I had a 1 hour view of both the ES and YM in addition to the big picture view. Did most of the tapes and trendlines on the zoomed in view.
