Would you not agree that the snippet I posted above clearly shows that the IBGS volume must be 'rising' (increasing compared to the volume of the prior bar) in order that the lateral be terminated? The fact that this is an overnight 60 min ES is not of consequence. As a followup to an earlier conversation about whether in fact the statement that an IBGS bar which pierces the border of a lateral will terminate the lateral, consider the attachment below. There is an IBGS bar which does not terminate the lateral thereby rendering a discussion about whether the volume associated with the IBGS has to be rising, moot. I extended the lateral using the black horizontal lines. The Boolean constraint is violated and therefore we are now in the land of probability which as we both know is to be avoided.
Have just returned from yet another visit to computer hell (of the .dll type). My salvation required that I do a reinstall of Ninja (amongst other things) and for what ever reasons, no matter what I do, palinuro's "DOM" script will not install. I keep getting the error message " Import failed. There are NS files in the imported NS Archive File that have programming errors. Blah and blah." Anyone have an idea what up? TIA
I am having exactly the same problem trying to import the "barpaint2" script. I wonder if the newer NT version I am using (6.5.1000.9) has a problem. I'll try it on a older version (if I can find one). (Or maybe it is another problem with Windows Vista)
FWIW bmonte, I'm using XP with SP3 and the 1000.12 release of NT. Have always had problems getting palinuro's DOM script to load but was able to get around it in the past by going the "NT 6.5 (My Documents) to bin to Custom to Indicator" route. This time couldn't fix things with that workaround.
I trust that you back up NJ regularly, all the backup files should be in a folder document/ninjatrader backup. All you have to do is removing then installing a fresh copy of NJ then do a restoring. This is how I move NJ from pc to pc np.
My aplologies for the late reply, just got back from holidays. No I would not agree, but you are asking the wrong person. Besides, who am I to argue what works best for you? -- innersky
When the Boolean constraint is violated, it is not a question of what does or doesn't work best, one simply dumps whatever notion it was that formulated the condition. In this case, the notion that an IBGS bar which pierces a lateral boundary (with or without a volume determinant), terminates the lateral 100% of the time, is not correct. If one wishes to say, "It's correct frequently enough to be useful to me", so be it, but then the condition becomes a probability.
based on what I heard from LA meeting I think we need a 'gap less' tool. Here is my first try. note that you can adjust the closing and opening time, enjoy.
