Thank you , thank you, thank you from the world of the technologically challenged... If you ever need anything, feel free - just as long it's with something that I can actually help with - like putting in a new irrigation system in your yard or repairing a tractor or the like.
I was looking for something else in the eSignal Central forums and came across a post by Alexis Montenegro in which he stated that eSignal 10 has range bars (for the tic charts). There is a link for it on eSignal's download page but I can't get the link to work right now. It appears to be a beta version. This is great news because it means that eSignal will be able to display all of the Hershey/Spydertrader tools that have been presented to date. http://forum.esignalcentral.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23422 Jason
I was able to download eSignal 10.0 this morning. The range chart looks good. Here's a link to an efs formula that will color both price and volume bars based on up, down or no change: http://forum.esignalcentral.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22550&highlight=color+price+bars The default for no change is black but you can change it to a different color with the efs editor (important if you use a black background). Quotetracker Str/SQ I've settled on a range candlestick. Bar range set to1 and show 100 bars. I like it cuz it's easier to view where it's at and where it's been. A quick glance is all it takes to get your info. Now a question - How do I add the horizontal lines? It has a hor line option the gives the 0 line, but am unable to add the lines at 2 and -2. Which indicator should I select?
double click on the indicator pane to bring up the Indicators menu Go to lower indicators Select Horizontal Line
When I do that, it opens another pane below the str/sq part, like the volume part in a regular chart. Sorry I didn't explain that before. Any other suggestions?
It sounds like you haave STR/SQU as a lower indicator in QT. You have to link all the horizontal lines together to put them in the same window pane. HIghlight STR/SQU and the Horizontal line, right click and select LINK. BTW, I would like to recreate that chart - can you append a pic of the indicator setup? Thanks!
I'm technologically challenged, so I have no idea how to do what you're saying. I see no way to link them like you're saying. But to set up the chart like I have, right click and under chart type - select range candlestick. Then under bar range - select 1.0. And then under chart period - select 100 bars, or whatever you prefer. And then if you can figure out how to get horizontal lines in, let me know !! Enjoy !!
