I heard some good things on Neoticker. Currently not using it myself so I cannot tell from own experience.
here, here. I tried QCharts 3x in the past year and a half and I swear I'll never use them again either.
That I don't think you can. You need the chart(s) up and running to generate the buy/sell signals. Your idea would be great; however I've not fully examined all its features yet so it may be possible but I can't say for sure. I don't remember seeing it anywhere in the manual/tutorials, though. At first it looked like I'd need a month to learn it but after about 3 evenings of working with it I've mastered most of the basics. The programming language is the biggest thing to learn but with the cut & paste of operands from a list they provide it's not that bad.
I did go to your website. I have attached a GIF file that shows where I have chosen 3 alerts. As I understand your system, I can have an alert window that watches my chosen 100 stocks, and will give me an alert whenever: Any one of the stocks indicates a "new high" Any one of the stocks indicates a "cross above the close" Any one of the stocks indicates it is in "consolidation" As I understand it, the only alerts I can choose from are the ones on this alert page, although I can choose any combination for my alert window. I don't see any facility for writing my own alert such as "look for flag patterns" or best of all " look for winning trades" Do I understand it correctly? Or did I miss something? Thanks for the help in any case.
Just to clarify what I am looking for ( besides the holy grail ). I would like to be able to write a scan that looks at 200 stocks real time and returns an alert when it see a match for a criteria I have written. For instance I might write a search for a NR4 on 5 min period that looks like this: BarHi1 is the high of the most recent of the 5 min bars and BarHi4 is 4 bars previous. BarLo1 - 4 similar. BarHI4 > BarHi3 and BarHi3 > BarHI2 and BarHI2 > BarHi1 and BarLo4 < BarLo3 and BarLo3 < BarLo2 and BarLO2 < BarLo1..... now go out and tell me WHEN and WHICH of my 200 watchlist stocks is fitting this criteria RIGHT NOW. This is a simple example but it is what I am interested in. Investor/RT can actually do this sort of thing when it is working and not crashing. Thanks,
Hi Tony, My reply is to both of your posts. You did understand our model in the first post. You can pick any combination of alerts and filters for any groups of stocks, however you are limited to our analytics. This approach reflects our philisophy of technical analysis that suggests everything is in flux. Instead of having people input BarHI4>BarHI3 we are calculating volatility and other studies on a constant basis behind the schenes and showing you which stocks are in action. That is how our running up/down and the confirmed versions spot trends and trend fading set ups, etc. Exactly what you are asking for may be available through Insight http://www.insight-trading.com/company.htm and possibley through First Alert http://neovest.com I hope this helps. We have a 7 day free trial on our service so feel free to check it out. Sincerely, Dan
You can do this easily with First Alert. Although filter trading is no Holy Grail, my trading has improved dramatically since I focused all my trades using real time filters. Having the ability to filter in real time and linking the filter results to order entry or even auto entry with First Alert has proven to be very valuable to me.
