you must have submitted a market order which is a suicide in option trading. Since the topic was about softs I'm trading Ags, Meats, Metals, Financials and Oil complex too
Nah at the time i had all orders default to limit at bid or offer, but since it was out of hours (before they went 23hr) and there were no quotes i think it took the closing price - which was miles away from the theo value (cos the futures were trading well away from prior close) and where i could close it off. I learnt my lesson that day
Anyone have any recent experience trading these softs options. Always wonder if the locals on the floor just migrated their mkt making operations on the screen (like CRT, Cooper Neff, etc) or just totally left the business. I would think there is still some $ to be made posting bids/offers since, unlike the equities where the min tick went from 1/8 of $1 , options min tick is unchanged. Volume seems to be decent as well. Hmmm.
I meant to get back to this thread earlier, a couple of weeks ago i had a punt on some SB sugar options, and it was completely different. The spreads were much tighter across the board during RTH, i was looking at some deep OTM calls in Oct and it was only about 4 ticks wide. Didn't do any spread orders so don't know how much more competitive the strategy market is vs the outrights.
