I wouldn't recommend Jacks arbitrarily and liberally formed concepts of old books. You are going to find it difficult to form a non-differentiated partnership with what the market has to offer, especially if you try to apply his 'shit' in a formalized manner without going through the necessary steps at boot camp and learning the algorithm inside and out. Take care. Dackster.
Big Little Goat, I have it on excellent authority that 666 is not Hypo. Hypo would like to be as focussed and mentally committed (in the institutional sense) as 666, but cannot pull it off. But you give Hypo a great compliment by the association. He asks me to thank you.
Dakster, IMO Jack never READ the old books. I once recommended both of Schabacker's to him (1932 and 1935) and got no spark of post-cogntion. Nor does he seem ever to have read Mamis' three. So I don't think he truly understands what he labels "the conventional wisdom". I, of course, on the other hand, do, haha!
MLQuant, I regret that I do not know you, and being increasingly decrepit I lack the initiative to look you up. Would you kindly explain what your issue is with the B-Team? You an SCT trader? Feel free to be scatalogically rude. Being Navy Appalachian white trash, I communicate well in that medium. (This begs the question of which Navy, since my country is land-locked, except for the odd crick, but US is the answer.) Wipe the rabid spittle off your lips and please respond. Best regards. Al.
So, when are you putting up YOUR funds to prove your calls, instead of demanding others to prove what you claim?? I mean, besides on a sim or paper trading...
As a veteran trader and someone used professionally and managerially to dealing with (and causing) a high degree of stress, I have a few things to say to Jack about his bizarre notions of the relationship of stress to success, in trading or anything else. Now I am anything but a sympathetic guy, so when I read the word "parasympathetic" in one of Jack's posts I am thinking "wimpathetic", because "para" is not real good as in "medic" or "legal" or "chute", I mean, not as good as what you really need. But I looked it up, and now I understand. Maybe I cain't rede two gud at my age, but I didn't see "support, comfort and confidence" in the context of "parasympathetic". What I DID see was "rest and digest". That I get, 'cause at my age I do a lot of that, after all my "fighting anf flighting" (my fight, your flight). So here's my beef. You can take some over intellectualized pussy like Neoxx and teach him to be as parasympathetic as you want, but he is going to shit his pants when he starts trading for real. That is because Back has it Jackwards. "Support, comfort and confidence" proceed from an intimate knowledge of real market mechanics, not some from pseudoknowledge of delusions like trends and channels and PV relationship. Trading is like judo. You predict the opponent's move, flow with it, and take advantage of his overextension. That's it. Simple and pure. God bless all you who deserve it, and damn the rest of you to hell!
I intent to rip every idiot on ET a new **** because I am sick of whining and wheedling. To Neoxx and all like him who proudly post their "Picture of Your Trading Station", as if that had a damn thing to do with success, here is mine.
Thomas, Maybe if Neoxx was slightly more autonomous or autonomic, his "biofeedback" would never become 'abnormal'? The trouble with Neoxx he's too sympathetic.....but i suppose alcoholics never have any self-realisation until it's too late.
