Socrates Examines Technical Strategy

Discussion in 'Strategy Building' started by Socrates, Dec 27, 2008.

  1. Hypo, he say "Jak please be my dad?"
Jak, he say "Hypo, so sorry, that's sad!"

Hypo say "Jack, I thought we be thick!"
Jack say to Hypo "Too bad you're a dick!"

    ehorn

    the B-team are so aberrated
    their minds are not diffrentiated

poor souls just cant get any traction
so decided to form a small faction
to prove to themselves pool extraction
    is hindsight and simply abstraction

they say show us the proof
    and we'll raise the roof

    such a typical defense reaction

  4. There was an old geezer from Phoenix
Whose traders did use lots of Kleenix
    Each time he cried "Go!"
    The market said "Whoa!"
And soon all their funds were anemics.

  5. Returning to meta-commenting Neoxx after this lamentable foray into doggerel verse, I found this posting notable:

"Incidentally, despite trying hard to debrief the prior chart I couldn't come up with a more satisfactory alternative."

All I can say is that if he has trouble analyzing the market at leisure after the close, he will find that it's a stone cold bitch in real-time while simultaneously thinking of entering or exiting. My guess is all that New-Age-y shit will go out the window the first time he discovers that there is a glaring hole in SCT called "no stops". All chart analysis aside, there is a nearly irresistable tendency in noobs to wait until the direction looks propitious for entry. Whereupon they slam you and everybody else that took the no-brainer trade.

When Neoxx has thrice denied Jack, I will come save him, if he has any money left, and teach him to enter on pullbacks with a hard stop.

So Jack, don't say I won't help another trader. In this case I make an exception. But he WILL have to take me off ignore, haha!

  6. LJYoung, the base coward, attacked me on home ground knowing full well that my favorite moderator on all of ET would remove any rejoinders in the interest of threadial purity. While the generous souls of the B-Team were wishing everyone well and composing merrily besotted verse, LJY saw fit to post this:

"lj, recently promoted to sergeant major in the Grobo-Spyderian Army of Liberation. Fack the B-team (especially that Socratic sot), on ET and elsewhere."

We are big boys over here and can stand on our own without moderators to protegee us. So if you got sumpin' ta say, say it here! Also, if you want to fack us, please specify the appropriate orifice. We are very specific over here, unlike over there.

But I DID like his coining of the new adjective "Spyderian"! Why didn't WE think of that?

  7. Well, I made two assertions about SCT fun-damn-mental principles that Jack tap danced around, accusing me of fishing. Also said I don't understand market action. My rejoinder is that Jack never shows us that he is anything more than a theoretician, an armchair trader.

So I will continue with my next point: that a system designed by a non-trader is bound to lack fundamental protections that a REAL trader learns the hard way to build into his practice: namely entering on pullbacks and using hard stops. As presented, SCT uses momo entry and is virtually guaranteed to get whipsawed. More later, or someone else can feel free to elucidate, my HoneyDo jar is overflowing.

  8. I am thinking to myself, Neoxx is exhibiting astonishing powers of concentration and observation. One might argue that this is aided by avoiding the distraction of actually trading. But just think, if he can understand Jack-speak, what wonders could he do with thes two simple bars of mine?

  9. Tums is helping me by showing the attachment in the body of the post. But to get a full appreciation for it you should click on the attachment itself to see the chart in all its postage stamp sized glory.
