Socrates Examines Technical Strategy

  1. Such a sad commentary this thread of yours hypo.

Less than half a decade ago, you could have whipped the ET faithful into such a frenzy by summoning all manner of sock puppets and motivating usernames from all corners of ET to take their shot and bash Jack - generating tens of thousands of page views for Baron in the process. One need not search too deep into the ET Archives in order to locate numerous examples of your fine work. I recall fondly, the mutlple fractal conflagrations you once created with such ease. Like an artist who worked in oil or clay, ET was your true medium.

Alas, but time marches on, doesn't it?

Fast forward to present day and one notes both the quantity, and (more significantly) the quality, of those who answer your siren song have diminished significantly. Those who do respond often miss your subtle nuance and fail to realize your true intentions - just as the puppet has no way to realize the true intent of the puppeteer.

Page views (the ultimate arbiter of interest) remain next to non-existant. Even your old adversary, Jack, doesn't bother to respond to your efforts anymore.

    Clearly, the times have changed.

Good Trading to you old friend.

  2. Ah, yes, that was the time when, as Stalin said: "Quantity has a quality all its own." I am so ashamed of my broken-down old self. But, hey, my merry band of aging corsairs perform a public service. Somebody has to poke stuffed shirts with a stick to see if there is anything inside. But I fear you mistake my aims. Have you not seen all my SCT-Lite charts with their fab results? I am now a closet SCT trader. I keep my caped outfit right next to my cowgirl suit.

Are you here to quantitatively answer my objections? I need to know before I hit 100,000 contracts.

  3. Now that Sancho Panza is here, I can reveal that I am running SCT-Lite on a 1 minute NQ chart. It is up net 17.63 points as we speak. What was it the Monkees sang? "Now I'm a believer? There's not a trace of doubt in my mind?"

    Good catch, 666.

  4. 666, while you're researching Neoxx's background, would you please try to find out if he is related to Nwbprop? I believe I detect a close resemblance.

  5. Unless you've 'scaled up' since last we spoke, you'll need to hit 2 contracts before you ever need to worry about 100,000. :)

    Now, you really are slipping.

  6. Always with the one-lot piker ad hominem! In fact I mismanage accounts that could trade a couple thousand ES or so, but I learned from my beloved deceased Eddie Toppel to invest all but 1% or less and daytrade that to avoid the temptation to overtrade the investment accounts. The objective being to make as much daytrading 1% as you do investing the 99%. My associte Albert Cibiades until recently posted hot stock picks using Joe Doaks' TDT system. But, as you say, I have long outlived my interest to ET. So I will while away my elder years here cruelly insulting newbies. And promoting SCT.

  7. I encourage everyone reading this to go over to our sister thread and look at Neoxx's latest chart. Doesn't it just drive you insane with the irresistable urge to crayola some support and resistance on it? I am constantly astonished that they never want to know WHY the highs and lows they channel occur where they do.

But I should not complain. I got to the pitiful state Spydie rubs my nose in by asking not only "Why?" but "Why Not?" when studing Jack all those long lonely years.

  8. Tum's is preserving the purity of the thread for ALL our enjoyment, haha!

But to keep him jolly here (Vikana must be breaking a tooth), I will post some Neo-(no relation ) TA and make a bold, Jack-like prediction.

As many know, but the Nobel committee has yet to recognize, my associate Joe Doaks has made the single most original contribution to TA of the 21st century: Ternary Decision Theory.

I have been watching both $DJX and $SPX using TDT, alert for any leading behavior by $DJX. And here it is! I expect in the next 2-3 trading days to show that the Dow leads the Sow on a daily basis!

  9. FYI, in the vein (vain?) of bold perro-dictions, if this mid-day-all-afternoon condition persists, it mean some serious shit is about to go down after the close that THEY know but YOU don't.

  10. Do 'they' know of any channels forming, maybe fans or pitchforks that SCT does not fortell?:D
