Come on man...! You're blaming this on the working man...? How do you explain all the decades of prosperity following the war...? Let's face it... Jobs have been expoted to China and they ain't coming back...! The working class is feeling it all over the western world...!
Perhaps Man's machines now do the biggest part of the growing, mining, and manufacturing that underpins the economy? (It is afterall what business owners are constantly trying to do: limit or reduce those FTE's.) If you're not working directly in one of those, or you don't own one of the robots doing that work, then you quickly find out how superfluous you are at the slightest economic squeeze.
I know that's not what you said... But the argument here is... Classes of the lazy unemployed who won't get a job. Which is partly true to be fair... But the other side to that argument is that a lot of jobs in manufacturing are just gone. Unionized manufacturing workers don't want to switch careers to lower paying jobs. That's a problem as well... BUT let's not forget... So many jobs are just plain gone...! The West can't compete with cheap manufacturing from Asia... Nothing to be done about that until minimum wages drop to like $1/hour through attrition... Enough unemployment and wages will drop to a low enough price that the West will be competitive again. Britain's already had riots... Take away their welfare and what are they going to live on...? I'd rather have people on welfare than being criminals on the streets trying to cut my throat or shoot me for some pocket change...!
The first parasitism started with the first grain surpluses after the adoption of agriculture. Some guy said to the farmer, "hey, give me some food and I'll make your digging sticks". Not too bad so far. Then another guy said to the farmer, "hey, give me a lot of food, and I'll use some for myself, and give the rest to the guy making digging sticks, so that you don't have to!"
