American pick up trucks are great. So I would assume GM and Ford SUVs should be pretty good too.

I leased a Pontiac for my older son ('97 Grand Am). It was ALWAYS in the shop. Got my younger son a 2001 Honda. No comparison. The Honda runs perfectly all the time.

Audi's.....well I had a 2000 Saab 9-3 convertible. Lots of fun, but I can't rave about the quality of it. Was glad when I returned it (just two weeks ago). But I have had many Japanese cars, and they were all great. My lease also just ran up on a Lexus. Best car I ever owned (not the most fun....just the best overall quality). European cars I guess are somewhere in between Japanese and American as far as quality control. Unless of course you pay very big money. Like your parents 745, or a big Mercedes. I guess I just don't want to think about $2000 brake jobs and thousand dollar tune-ups. Besides, notice this market lately?

    Peace,
    :)Rs7

  2. "some people become socialist after they've made their money. it's a great device for inhibiting competition."

excellent point. George Soros and Ted Turner come to mind. Both hard core free market types until after they made a couple billion. How about the Kennedys while we are on the subject. Joe Kennedy made gobs of money on whisky and the stock market, gets his kids elected with the corrupt democratic machine instead of going republican. We got JFK and Bobby out of it, but they both got killed and we are left with Ted, only the good die young.

I think it's totally hilarious that I got called a pacifist. By the way, I have yet to delete a post in the message boards. I am a staunch capitalist. The more I observe people, the more I feel the best solutions are market driven ones.

Anyway, right now I'm basically market neutral. I'm basically neutral on this war as well. If you want some proof, you can read this post, made before someone got their knickers in a twist. Sorry, that's a Brit term. Forgive me? I'm glad to be an American.
