    A Great Quote

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. (Alexis de Tocqueville)

What if Congress bribes the public with all the public's money?

    Additional Relevant Quotes

A Socialist-leaning government is one in which most of those who vote for a tax don't have to pay it.

In robbing Peter to pay Paul, the Government can always rely on, or, can easily enlist, support from Paul.

Did you ever wonder why the vast majority of American billionnaires (a la Soros, Gates, et al) vote Democrat?

Or, who do you think gets the most benefits from the Dems' legislation, like "too big to fail" bailouts, no taxes for GE, and waivers from ObamaCare?

It's like the old Mafia pearl of wisdom "keep your friends close and your enemies closer..."

I'm sure it's because their greater leisure time has allowed them to read more history, economics, philosophy, psychology, foreign policy, etc.

No... once those guys earn their billions...
They want to a society filled with worker drones who can not amass similar wealth and compete for their assets.

So you create taxes which prevent people from being able to bank roll risk capital... and you try to create as many low middle class people, who have work that asses off their whole life to have a t.v. to watch oprah a couch a roof and some pizza.

you would also wish to degrade the quality of the education... making sure that the smart kids don't get properly challenged in the name of diversity. you would mix the kids up on big classes instead of tracking the kids... and you would make sure that shitty govt workers could still be teachers... so that even if you have great teachers for a few years... you would like hit a year or two of teachers who will make sure you only learn to grade level... therefore destroying previous progress.

You might even get national publicity by saying you care about the worker and that taxes are too low ... as your bond rating company was fraundulently mis labeling bonds investment grade (buffet owns part of Moodys) as your wall street buddies were sucking all the money out of the workers retirement accounts by selling crappy bonds as investment grade to the workers fund managers.

It's not about taxes, it's about competition. The winners always get to make the rules.
