Isn't this the complaint we have about crony capitalism today? So it's not exclusively socialism. If you consider colonialism just a purer form of capitalism you see how selfish, dictatorial and murderous capitalism can be (and has been).
the elites are attempting to institute socialism. They rule, they take away rights they tax the hell out of potential competition. They get to rule forever and have a workforce of semi educated drones. Socialism is harsh, mean, creates massive mal distribution of wealth and cements you into the class structure. Look at venezuela, cuba, the iron curtain. the soviet union, china etc. that is what you progressives are progressing too. Our cronies show no indication of a share the wealth and let everyone have a high standard of living type rule. When there was a chance for single payer... they instead opted for forced payments to themselves... and had the democrats betray their base. The establishment Rs and Dems give us the worst of the left and the right not the best.

unfortunately there are lot more cubas and venezuelas and iron curtains than reasonable outcomes. There is no way our crooked d.c. politicians will give us a good outcome. More govt from D.C. means lower standard of living for more people.
As long as their is socialism, it will always fail. Regardless of its failures, idiots will always support socialism. Bernie Sanders is a socialist. If you look at his life story, there are plenty reasons why is he a socialist. He tried to use his skill sets to compete on the open market and failed every time. For Bernie and his loser supporters life is easy if everything is free. Of course nothing is free, some guy is out working his ass off and being coerced by the government to hand over his earnings for the freebies. Bernie has not interest in that guy.
