No point in going deeper here (as I'm not here to argue politics). This is not about hand outs AT ALL. Re-read the post. It is about fairness and levelness. Heck if I had my way, it would be tax both zero and drop subsidies, but since that's not the case, then they should at least be taxed EQUALLY don't you think?
Yes, I think equally. But the rich are over-taxed so that the non-rich can be undertaxed... the platform of the DemoCraps, you understand. The graduated income tax is totally unfair discriminatory, and immoral in my view... should be abolished.
Because its bullshit. There is no reserve and never has been. SS is funded by the those currently working to pay those that are retired. There is no "account" that your money is put into. Your benefits are based on your how long you worked and what you payed and when. The "lock box" and all that other crap is just that......crap.
Are you serious? Exactly my point - they will be on Medicare for an average 60 years instead of just 20-30 years as is the case today... that is not going to reduce Medicare's costs, its going grow it
'BTW... The world doesn't owe you a living. America doesn't owe you a living.' Republicans are TRAITORS and are a single biggest threat to the existence of the USA. Set aside taxes for a moment, there are other dozens of issues and viewpoints where Republicans tend to hurt the US every single second. Republican mentality is breaking apart the American family and killing America off from within.
What amazes me is how many people in this thread are completely clueless about what SS is and how it works. So you think they shouldn't cap it, you should pay SS on all your income and that rich folks should get multi-million monthly checks from SS when they retire? Yea, that makes a lot more sense then what we have today.
yawn. First of all, SS is not a percentage of ALL your income. "What amazes me is how many people in this thread are completely clueless about what SS is and how it works." --QED
gnome, Capitalism is not fair. Nobody in their right mind would agree to it given its winner-take-all bias. In spite of its problems though, capitalism rewards productivity which is why we put up with it. It might be the least unfair system of all the unfair systems. Democrats/socialists are wrong on taxation. Taxation is a net negative solution to the problems inherent to capitalism. It makes the poor poorer at the end of the day. It's sad and funny that the US today is basically a marxist country except for the economy which is driven by capitalism instead of state control (which is really a concession to the fact that capitalism is more efficient at applying capital).
