So whatever happened to the recession we were supposed to have in 2019?

I was gonna give you a like on that post till I got to the last line lol. Had to throw that in didn't ya? Ahhh, whatever. You make some valid points. Its not a one size fits all however.

Ya know its too funny... you're about 35 miles off target when you categorize me as "closed minded". Far from it. I'm all ears. I love to know what you're thinking. I love to know what the old coots here are thinking. Gotta stay ahead of the game young grasshopper.

So you're alright Gaussian. Don't be so set in your ways though, and so hell-bent on your opinion. Ya gotta take it all with a grain of salt and regurgitate it all with a bit of charm and a nice smile if you want to rise to the top. For real.
    That's a derivative of dx/dt.... where x=life.

I rescinded that section at the end and tried to send you a PM to apologize. It wouldn't allow me to. Sometimes I get in over my head and take things too personally. Sorry about that.

The boomers are mostly gone. Now it is the Gen-Xers who are going to fuck you at the drive-thru.

And why not? They were considered too liberal by their boomer parents, (which is weird, because the boomers were all hippies at Woodstock), and are shunned by their millenials kids for being too conservative.

The problems cropping up in the world today is sadly to blame on the Gen-Xers. It is squarely on their shoulders now. And they are hypocrites, just like their fucking parents.

    The cycle never ends.

Not until the next guy enters office, sees how bad the mess is, thinks I can't keep enabling this and stops all the manipulation and cover up, because he understands the longer it goes on the worse it'll be.

Sadly, that guy will be blamed for it and not the guy who screwed it up.

Happens here, every time Labour ( Left ) get in they massively over spend then pass to Conservative ( right ) and drop them in it :(

Market gurus are crying for the next recession, are BEGGING for the next recession, because they CANNOT BELIEVE that a market can expand for as long as it has since the LAST recession. As if there is simply NO WAY the world can continue to grow without some nasty snap-back, or "reversion to a mean".

I call BS on it. The only reason a recession happens is because people BELIEVE it will happen.

If a person so firmly believes that they will die by the time they are 40 years old, they will probably find a way to make it happen.

Likewise, if economists and analysts and the rest so firmly BELIEVE that a recession is imminent, they will probably find a way to make it happen, through their spamming the world with their relentless bantering on about how it must happen, convincing their clients to move their money in ways that will make it happen, and generally providing the impetus for it. Domino effect

It simply doesn't HAVE to happen. The US economy is in the best place it has been in quite a while, yes?

Trump is now the current impetus to accelerate it. And this is the stable genius who said some time ago that recessions were self-fulfilling prophecies. Well, he is doing it now, with his trade war with China, and now the EU.

There is no NEED for it. World was doing fine, Trump, before you came along. Why'd you have to go and muck up the works?

cheer up folks - it's a self feeding cycle... you cheer up, have an optimistic view, you go long, make money, and cheer up some more.

otherwise it's a vicious cycle - Trump mucking up? you can't commit to the long, make no money, and become more cynical..

    etc etc.

How many times have I invited to ride the Trump train for a bit..

it's not too late... looking at fundraising numbers it's gonna be a massive landslide for Trump in 2020.... hop on now, Dow to 40000 in a jiffy... otherwise the vicious cycle can be painful for another 5 years lol.

Well, we're in for a hell of a ride if Trump gets the office again in 2020, because at that point he will have nothing left to lose, and it will be...

No. America was doing just fine before him, and will be fine when he goes away. The American people, as a whole, are their own self-fulfilling prophecy. Except for PG&E dropping the ball on brush maintenance, shit-lickers who whine about their ocean-views being blocked if offshore wind-farms go up, and the general malaise against fossil-fuels.

(By the way, fossil-fuels are what are used to create the make-up that the envirofags put on to look pretty to be able to attend the "save-the-planet" meetings by driving there in their gas-guzzling SUVs, because they are too lazy to get a smaller car and maybe have to take two trips to the Costco to buy 10 gallons of milk which will spoil before they use it all anyway, which adds to the plastic gyre in all the oceans.)

    Sorry, that was a ramble.
