If you would like to link to one of these stories to prove your point, I will happily read them. But I'm not going to go searching for stories about something I believe to be extremely unlikely (Mish's risk of being extradited).

President Barack Obama drew some unexpected applause during Tuesday night's State of the Union address following a line he has often repeated since his 2012 re-election.

"I have no more campaigns to run," Obama said.

The comment sparked a round of applause from Republicans in the audience, drawing the attention of Vice President Joe Biden and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). The president smiled in response and ad-libbed, "I know, because I won both of them."

That remark drew even more applause, only this time from the Democratic side of the aisle.

You can read this article from Britain that provides a good summary about the current EU Arrest Warrant absurdity including people in Britain who have been extradited to countries like Poland for not paying a fine.

The EU Arrest Warrant serves Britain badly
Dealing with extradition cases costs the British state at least £27 million a year, and the crimes they deal with are often trivial

This article outlines how some people were extradited for not paying parking fines until the U.K. put a stop to it.

Then of course there is the famous Hartman case where the International Court was attempting to extradite an author in a free speech case for not paying a 7000 Euro fine.

France generally will not extradite French Citizens for any crime (look at the Roman Polanski case). The United States generally will not extradite U.S. citizens to France for minor crimes. However the minute a U.S. citizen goes to a foreign country all bets are off. France has regularly attempted to extradite people to France for failure to pay fines and tax evasion - they have a mixed record of success.

I think, but am not 100% certain, you will find that US citizens are generally not extradited without the express consent of the US Government. Just going on conversations I've had while abroad with embassy personnel.

A new poll indicates Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush have actually lost ground since announcing their interest in the 2016 race for the White House.
