So the Market is Essentially a Casino, Right?

  1. It’s true that there are uncertainties in the forex market, but I won’t say it is a casino. Forex market, if operated with proper knowledge and strategy, then it can do wonders for you.

Making money in casinos depends on luck and the game is controlled by Casino owners to make consistent profit and we can’t determine the risk on investment.

But this is not the case with trading, to make profit here you should have knowledge and analytical skills to determine your risk on investment and market behaviour.

most of you guys completely missed the entire point of this thread and that is okay.

My analogy was more along the lines of poker...

Poker is a whole lot like trading IMO especially concerning bet sizing and odds of winning based on your hand (position). Sure the house has the edge, the odds are in its favor (Market Makers, Broker's commissions & fees, order flow, etc...), but you can improve your chances of winning via SKILL.

I wasn't talking about slot machines...and for those of you who think playing cards in only about luck...invite a pro gambler to your next garage card game and watch him mop you and your buddies up.

and to clarify further for those of you who reeeeally missed it...the house kicking you out of the casino once you start taking too much money from them seems a whole lot like what happened with GME when brokers eliminated all buying power when the price went ballistic and it never recovered from that event.

    Jesus.

  5. Comparing casinos with the market...are apples and oranges, Completely different things.

Casinos are for amateur suckers who are none the wiser. Casinos are a Devil's Den...that woos weaker souls with bright lights, flashing money signs, fantasy displays, sounds, buffets, big hotels, runned by a mob, basically. While people who can intelligently trade the market are more of a skilled, professional, person.

It's basically impossible to make a million dollars at card tables, before that comes...you'll get kicked out. I don't ever recall reading about someone who got banned trading the market from any brokerage for making a million.

Modern social media...has transformed the market...into a casino, though, by displaying boldness, brightness, abundance and clickbait.
Everyone across Social Media...is woo'ing Everyone else to bet and trade the market and become rich. Make all your dreams come true!

A better comparison would be to compare poker, specifically, to trading; rather than comparing "the casino" to trading.

You don't play against the house at the poker table, so you won't be banned for winning.

First you should figure out whom you are playing with or against, whether the foe is IA, retail, institutions, or algorithms, etc

You were just responding to a bot.
