According to Tom Sosnoff, one of the founders of TOS, the reason "mistakes" are evident in the trading platform is the requirement of management to focus the development team on providing "expensive, time-consuming "new toys" to please what the retail traders seem to value. Examples: "Monkey Bars", Artificial Intelligence indicator (AI) for scalpers, Skins, and a continuing massive amount of indicators, along with offering "training" which is ridiculous such as Swim Lessons. Examples of excellent tools such as "On-Demand" playback have never worked properly. Constant notifications to Tech Support to fix things results in: "We recognize that it is not working but all we can do is send in a Ticket to the Developers." TOS is bloated code which results in slow performance and reliance of allocation of memory which cannot be corrected by adding more RAM. SOEs is Right! Sosnoff further states that while he was CEO he spent Millions of Dollars which regrettably has not contributed to the profitability of the most traders and consequently was a 'waste of millions' in programming costs.
No I meant TD. Their level of sophistication is a joke. Senior mgmt only cares about asset gathering through marketing. I would not characterize them as a "professional" firm.
They are for retail traders, no doubt. But compared to other retail platforms they are still the best. Can you please name a professional firm with a better platform (I am always looking to see what is out there)
I assume he said that as soon as he created his own brokerage and platform..... Because in this "documentary" he thinks it's awesome...... I am not saying if it is true or not, just funny how a person changes their tune.....
I never said I didn't like TOS or that it wasn't a decent platform. I said that even when obvious and easy to fix problems are called to their attention they IGNORE them. Basically , its a middle finger to the user. If they have time to add the most esoteric nonsense that 1 out of 10,000 will use, they could surely put an alert by SYMBOL for news, and a symbol column on the news feed.
To be fair, TOS has quite a few features that TWS lacks. Even where TWS is supposed to shine, TOS has an options T&S screen that merges the entire option matrix for a symbol, with filters. TWS has nothing like that. I like to be fair, even while I bash
I have accounts at both brokers. Calling IB support is horrific at best. Their platform UI makes me wanna cry. I do all my trades that I can with TD. The only reason I use IB is to trade Futures from Canada. There just isn't another viable option. You missed my thread where I showed they can't figure out the risk in a Debit vs credit spread. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...-ib-margin-calculator-and-support-are.306919/
