To afford higher prices, credit card interest rates need to be cut.
Waiting for Trump to crash oil prices, that should neutralize price increases.
The end game is self sufficiency and stability. Also the enrichment of Trump's billionaires.
Stronger dollar will reduce exports, forcing business to invest in US.
World markets will grow without the US, which empowers China and its partners.

  3. spoken like a non import business owner.....

stay in the kiddie pool and let the adult grown ups who own businesses that import handle this. We are paying the tariffs and thus reducing our bottom line. I cannot pass it all on to the consumer because things are weakening and I cannot afford to raise prices. Inflation exists and any attempts to raise prices will scare my customers and I have to eat it.

Just say "I do not know anything about this issue" and save us all some time.

  4. You might want to crack a book. Supply chains will realign but still stay outside of the U.S. China will move production to free trade zones in Dominican Republic and Mexico and other areas but will not change anything. When U.S. put duties on Chinese candles they were moved to Vietnam for production.

Exporters dont pay tariffs or feel the loss even if they adjust prices a bit to offset some of the tariff cost. American importers still pay the tax. Since it is more expensive to build most of these things in teh U.S. the cost structure will simply increase across the board. Its called inflation.

Wait for it, cheques with Trump's name on them will be sent out, paid for with the money taken from them.

Its breathtakingly cynical, but he did kill a million Amercians so...

It will only happen if the item cannot be found elsewhere e.g. rare earth minerals.

  8. false.... it is cheaper to get materials overseas even if they have it in the US such as computer chips, auto parts, furniture etc... Americans don't give a shit about trade imbalances they want cheap shit. Trump has made people think it's some great national emergency but they will forget soon and just wonder why shit costs more.
