  1. Best day ever on FESX!!! Yty, I couldn't trade as I was away, but the break must have done something good as I made 18 points today!!! Awesome, awesome day. I really felt in sync with the market. Overall felt really comfortable with my trades. The difference was that today I looked for more confirmation that the trade would work rather than just pull the trigger. Fortunately, the FESX gave me the clues and my orders got executed. Unfortunately this was on sim :( since I haven't traded live since the 24th. If I manage to continue with the same discipline tommorrow as today then I may do a live trade next week.

Trade 1: Market went to yty's POC of 3009 and pulled back. I took a short at 3006 but lost my nerve and exited for a +1 profit, just went the market tanked. On the one hand I felt like I wanted more confirmation, on the other I was really only risking 3 points. But happy I continued to seek confirm as the reward came later in the day.

Trade 2: Market tanked and came back to test the high of the day. It failed and what looked like a 2nd failed attempt (in circle) I took a short at 3004 with my stop at the swing high of the red candle (3007). Took my profit at 2997 for +7 pts. (Also note that retail sales in Europe came out about 30min earlier and they were worse than expectations so I had that going for me too).

Trade 3: Market continued to tank and went all the way to Tuesday's POC. Again had alot of patience. I saw the spring on huge volume but waited to make sure. It looked like price made a double bottom with the 2nd bottom a little higher at 2983. Then it looked like it was going to make a move. Had a divergence also working for me. So I decided if it broke above 2990 I'd enter long. Price moved above 2990, then pulled back and I was in. There was a 2nd chance to get in at 2990 about 3 bars later on the first red bar after the breakout. Now price stayed put and I started to worry after I saw another red bar. I decided to move my stop to 2990 (from 2983). My thought process was after 2 red bars, if it goes to my entry I'm out as this may reverse. I'd rather miss the trade than risk losing all my profits of the day just hoping. Fortunately buyers came in and pushed it up to 3002. I was out at 3000 for +10pts.

My target is to try and make around 20 points a month. If I keep this up, I'll be able to go on vacation after the first week of every month :) Hopefully, I'll keep this up tommorrow. Good luck to us all!!!

    you responded to me:
"You are not really hedging, since if the market drops you could lose quite a bit."

yeah, right. says the guy who trades sim as I trade real. But yes, you are right, I'm not hedging, the best hedge is not to trade at all as you do.

  4. Please go back and read post No.1. Real trades around 1900. And for your information, this compares around 120 sim trades. This statistics is over my entire trading history.

Now get off my journal. Smart arses are not welcome here.

  6. I found it difficult today. Just when you would expect a move, it seemed to me that the market would just freeze and stay there. I had lot of scratches. Not all of them should have occured as a couple were due to some hastiness. Something to work on.

After the market pushed down to 3001, I wanted to get long for a rebound. I ended up scratching the 1st and 2nd trade for -1 pt and -2 pts respectively. On my 3rd try I tried to make 7 pts on it. It went to 3012 (3013 was my target) and it stalled. Red bars started appearing as price moved sideways and I decided to get out at 3010 for +4 pts. Good move as it pulled back.

After numbers came out of the US, the market pushed down again and as it looked to rebound I took a long. I scratched this for 0 pts after I saw this indecisive candle (1st yellow arrow). Just in time too! Market pushed lower. As it traded below yty's POC of 3001 and seeing the morning rotations which created heavy activity/barrier above, I decided I was going to short a pullback.

A spring formed at the bottom with increase in volume which meant buyers were coming in. Market pushed up and after the 1st red bar which coincided with what looked like resistance around the 3008 level I decided to take a short. Again I scratched this short for 0 pts as I saw another indecisive candle (2nd yellow arrow). I was a little afraid of this been a test before the market pushed higher.

Then we had an upthrust on higher volume (3rd yellow arrow). This must have meant sellers were coming in. Along with everything going on I figured I could make some profit. I shorted at 3006 and exited at 2999 for +7 profit. Done for the day. Was a tough one, but overall can't complain. Still working on improving day by day. It's been a good last 2 weeks.

    Have a great weekend!!!

  7. Bad start to the week. I traded in the balance area and got whipsawed 3 times in a row :( I should have waited for a breakout or a move before taking a position.

Trade 1: Market moved a bit up and pulled back. Took a long but in no time lost 5 pts.

Trade 2: At the time I figured market would be turning down. I missed the spring on the 30 min chart which should have kept me from shorting :) I dropped -3 points. What's annoying is that I would have scratched the trade if there was no movement by the end of the 5 mins but unfortunately it made a quick move up to hit my stop.

Trade 3: By now I figured out the market was not going anywhere and would rotate. So I took a short and again too me out before I was able to scratch :( Another -3 pts.

Need to work on staying out until got a clearer picture going. Staying out of mess is priority! Perhaps the lesson is that I need to wait for some extension or move from initial balance of day.

  8. Today, I missed the oppty in the morning as I was waiting from some more information and was suspect of how price would react. In afternoon, when price returned, again I was suspect.

In the end, after I saw price move sideways for over 2 yrs and it appeared that price found support I decided to put on some trades. As I need to do a min of 10 round-trips so that the TS platform is free, I switched to my real account as I saw the risk was low.

My first trade I scratched for +1 as I wasn't sure there was enough moment building. In my second trade I took only +3 pts as I knew Ben was going to testify in 3 min and didn't want to hold a position while the Fed chairman was speaking.

  9. Yty's trades (02/10):

Didn't get a chance to participate in the push down in the morning and was a little pissed about it. It moved down strongly and through the POC (3007) from Feb 4th. That POC though was not virgin, but still I expected some sort of rotation/pullback. I wanted to get long but couldn't pull the trigger. By the time I found the nerve, I got in at a bad position and ended up scratching for -2 pts. At the end of the day, I was right and if had kept the position and used a wider stop then the trade would have been profitable. Of course you can't think like that but anyway there was some good evidence for it. On the 30min chart, there was a wide down candle, followed by a wide up candle. Put those 2 together you got a nice spring with some good value so there was good evidence that that was the bottom.

I then starting thinking that the pullback price did may reverse and the trend day could continue. Mistake. Anyway, took 2 shorts which I scratched at same price from 0 pts.

It was a difficult day for me to get something going. I shouldn't complain as you can't get your ideal setups everyday. I should focus on just not trading in such cases.

  10. Made some profit today but should have made more on my last trade. Shouldn't complain but need to be improving. Overall my performance so far has been ok but far from good enough for it to become a career.

On my first trade I nailed +9 points after a rebound off the POC of yty with support from a divergence (shown).

Second trade, I lost -3 points trying to take a short after a push down. I thought I'd get a reaction off the POC but didn't happen. I should have given more notice to the DAX. Had a 30min spring and a push up to high of day. FESX wasn't quite there but 30min candle despite closing down, it closed near to middle, this was followed by a higher high. On the other hand I can't be to harsh as it could have failed. It wasn't a 'crazy stay away' sign.

Third trade, took a long but got scared of losing my previous profit and scratched for +1 at red bar which looked at that point that sellers were coming in off the test. Should have held on for at least 1 more bar...
