SNAP options begin trading today, 10 March. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-snap-options-idUSKBN16F2KK .
Not as much volume as I thought there would be so far. I'm surprised puts aren't flying out the door. If for no other reason than hedging for the early buyers. The $23's are really pretty cheap. Puts and calls.
I agree. I thought the vol would be higher. Next week 23 straddle for 1.40 seems cheap to me as well.
That article says expectations were for SNAP's options volume today to exceed FB's opening day of 365K contracts. Somebody better start buying then cause these things are dead. Looks like less than 10K have traded so far and the day's almost half over. Hmph. Wonder why.
And here we go again. Facebook is launching an alternative: Messenger Day http://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-messenger-facebook-snapchat-20170309-story.html
OK... I don't mind posting this here because this is not a low float easily manipulated stock by any means. But why in the world would no one buy puts on this thing today? Did I wake up in the Twilight Zone? Don't answer that.
