I Was Tortured into Giving a False Confession to Chicago Police

  2. Separate from what Jussie should receive as punishment if found guilty we are seeing the usual double standards. Roseanne was terminated very quickly for a silly tweet which was far less harmful than this act by Jussie. He remains employed. Multiple celebrities were quick to jump on the bandwagon with support for Jussie and had nothing but their own hate and bias to spew. Crickets now chirping with new developments. Multiple networks and news outlets now attempting to spin the story into some broader conversation we must have about race. And then there's the politicians. Not an honorable person among them to just step up and own their bullshit.

A Digital Archive Documents Two Decades of Torture by Chicago Police

Amid continued accusations of police misconduct, the force must contend with a digital rehashing of a sordid chapter in its history.

    JULEYKA LANTIGUA-WILLIAMS

The Chicago Police Department seems to be continuously embroiled these days in multiple, high-profile investigations of fatal incidents, corruption scandals, and mishandling of critical equipment. Now, the CPD will have to contend with an online, 10,000-document-strong archive of an even more troubling time in its history: the notorious two decades in which officers performed torture.

The Chicago Torture Archive will open this month at the University of Chicago. The massive collection comes from efforts by the People’s Law Office, a civil-rights organization, to gather interrogations, criminal-trial files, civil-litigation documents, works of journalism, and records of activism spurred by the CPD torture cases documented between 1972 and 1991.

Briefly stated, over 100 black men were tortured by officers in order to force confessions, drive them to incriminate co-defendants, or to intimidate possible witnesses to police brutality.

  4. Not that the two situations are comparable, but you just brought Roseanne up. And what was your take on the Roseanne matter? (Just checking for consistency.)

  5. I think you're wrong about this one. It really does look like Smollett was trying to ride a wave of his own making and then crashed.

The Stark fallacy defense. Police brutality exists so all black perps are innocent. He doesn't know how to spell Jussie's first name. He thinks checks, "talk." The two "personal trainer" brothers admitted to being paid by Smollett to attack Smollett. They are on the security cam leaving the scene as the timeline dictated.

You're all out of ammo, Bro.

Spoken like a true sheep.I'll wait to see what Jessies defence team and a jury with black people distrustful of Chicago PD have to say.

  8. Rosanne committed a stupid act. It's not crime to say stupid things, thankfully.:D There are however consequences and the network was within their rights to fire her. Probably a mistake on their part as the show was an abject failure after her departure, but they get an A+ for virtue signaling.

Capt resistance bands; this is in no way comparable to Roseanne. She lost her show; this dude is charged with a felony. You and Stark should blow each other.
