Stopped out on SCO. I'll stay out...when SCO falls, it falls hard. Made more than 10% on it...kept me afloat when I was trying to go long in a down market on other stuff. Next time I'll sit on the sidelines when the market is moving down or just play an ETF short. If anyone took my advice on daytrading NKE, they should be happy. I just picked up a small position in GPRO for a swing trade. A little early for me, but it's a good company, so I can afford to try to catch a falling knife. Seems to be perking up.
Ok, well if you did these trades, you're happy right now. Consider a reasonably tight stop on GPRO, but I think it will take out it's recent high (at least $65). It's setting up a bullish candle and it was on a nice trend when the market took a crap over the last few days....I think it wants to resume it's positive trend (if the market will stop spooking it).
Just Bought DIS at 118.59. Still holding GPRO. Nice patterns on both. I think the market is turning bullish, which should be the rising tide that raises these fine boats.
DIS up more than a dollar right now. Still won't sell. People have told me my picks could be day trades, but I think this one has lots of room to run. GPRO dropped on the release of a silly article about a competitor, but I think the crowd has figured out it was a non-issue so it's coming back up. Wish one of you fractal nuts would run one on GPRO...looks textbook.
Gpro finally perking up nicely 3%. Dis establishing up trend even on a down day...candle placed nicely. Oil responded as expected. It's almost like I know what I'm doing. Gpro and DIS have more to go so setting a trailing stop and holding.
DIS and GPRO both popped up today. Sold them off. They were up like 1.1% each when I sold. Made nice $$$ on each. Probably should have sold GPRO on Friday but I was away from the computer too much. Why did I sell? Looks like the overall market may be beginning to turn down. I don't want to be long in anything until I see what happens.
GPRO now negative and DIS just hanging on. Market now falling nicely as predicted. You'd think I'd have more people reading my journal.
Alright, I'd never recommend a trade. But I just bought equal size positions in SDS and SBUX. They will hedge each other, but I think I can time a profit on both.
I am talking about an overnight hold here (minimum) in case that isn't clear. I'm a swing trader after all.
