On this day, 18 years ago, the Dow fell 22.6%, the largest one-day decline in recorded stock market history.
I recall it, not because I was a market participant but because of the options player guy that I was trying to get some engineering work out of. After that day he was wandering around holding on to the walls, I guess he went from riches to rags. He just stopped coming to work after awhile, I don't know if he recovered his psyche or his money.
