Actually the difference between a yoke and a side mounted joystick is almost nil.
With a yoke (most civilian planes) the pilot would normally have his left hand on the yoke and his right hand on the throttle(s). In the Cirrus your doing the same thing. In fact it's very common for the copilot to fly the plane from the right seat in which he using the opposite hands, right hand stick/yoke left hand throttle(s).

Most tactical military aircraft have joysticks. Some mounted between the pilots legs (F15, F18) and others (F16) mounted on the right hand side. Of course here the pilot has his right on stick and his left on the throttle(s).

As a side note there was a fighter with a yoke back in WWII, the P-38.

  2. You would make a great pilot RM!!

Your only problem would have been too many "sweetheart" pictures tumbling out of the overhead escape rope panel...

Are you sure that the IDF assignment of prisoner guard is just a rouse for ET and that you did something else in the IDF(big secret)?
