Anyone ever fire the Desert Eagle .50ae?

If not, and you have a chance to, trust when I say that you need hearing protection! It's a fun gun to shoot but you're afraid to pull the trigger only because of how loud the thing is!

  2. Really? I always imagined the .32 auto was a bit of a dud cartridge-still, when a bullet decides to do something different for a change, good luck replicating the shot.

    .25 ACP-now there's a truly useless cartridge.
Put a few rounds through a colt navy .44 black powder replica, those things are great fun to shoot, darn messy to clean though. I wonder how the respective "knockdown power" of an all lead ball, (even at the lower velocities) stacks up to modern type ammo?
I guess a bullet is a bullet really.

  4. Get yourselves set for the real downturn now, in terms of protection, food, etc.

Things are going to deteriorate at a pace and depth that will shock America.

You'll need a 9mm (if you can afford it, a .40S&W and/or .45ACP would be a good addition, along with a .357 Revolver), at minimum, and a 12 gauge shotgun (Mossberg, preferably), along with either an AK or AR, and a .22LR (CZ, Browning or Ruger), along with plenty of ammunition and weapon cleaning supplies.

If things get that bad it's time to bring out the big guns. My "primary" will be my Springfield Armory M1A.

The handguns will be for mostly for backup.

  6. The M14 is a badass choice, that is still in use today by operators today (being used by SEAL and Marine Recon units after specific request), because of amazing reliability in a fantastic caliber.

It's the better choice than the AR platform/caliber for serious SHTF scenarios.

Just make sure you get one with fiberglass rather than wood furniture, as in humid climates, that was one of its only weaknesses.

Great minds think alike! I own two M1a's, one standard & one scout version. Both are tack drivers.
I have twenty usgi mags for each weapon & over 10k rounds of British surplus .308 I bought back in 2001 for 160/1000 round can.

If things get bad I am not going to worry too much about it. I've got a two year supply of long term storage food stashed away, a solar water well pump & live in a rural area. I have chickens in the back yard & some acreage I am repairing fences on for a few cattle next year.

    Bring it on!

  9. If I could get my hands on an HK MP7 PDW, I would, in a heartbeat.

I really wish HK would make the modifications that would make it civilian market compliant, but they never will.

It's the ultimate urban rifle for close quarter and concealment, with a body armor defeating proprietary round.
