Small chloroquine study stopped after irregular heart beats detected in subjects

Eligible participants were allocated at a 1:1 ratio to receive orally (or via nasogastric tube in case of orotracheal intubation) either:

    a) high doseCQ (600mg CQ (4x150mg tablets, twice daily for 10 days, total dose 12g);

or b) low dose CQ (450mg CQ (3x150mg tablets + 1 placebo) twice daily on Day 0, 3x150mg tablets +1 placebo tablet followed by 4 placebo tablets from D1 to D4, and then 4 placebo tablets twice daily from D5-D9, total dose 2.7g).

Hell of a trial. So go from a high success rate of 2.7 grams of the thing, to FOUR TIMES the successful group, and people start dying.

Way to go clinical trial doctors? Why not simply up the working dose by half, so maybe only 5-6 grams for the second arm? Or maybe, *GOD FORBID*, try a third group with 1 gram?

Shit, why didn't they just up the second group to 454 grams, and shoot them up with a pound of the stuff from the start? In fact, why didn't they just say screw it, let's exchange their blood for HCQ, see how they fare?

Total failure of a trial. Ridiculous bullshit. And these people get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

  2. Drugs that can cause irregular heartbeats

    https://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/atrial-fibrillation/medicines-raise-heart-rate

    Asthma Medicines
Many of these can cause a fast heartbeat, including inhaled corticosteroids, albuterol, inhaled long-acting beta-2 agonists, leukotriene modifiers, and oral methylxanthines.

    Antibiotics
Azithromycin (Zithromax) is an antibiotic that may speed up your heart rate. Other antibiotics, such as levofloxacin, amoxicillin, and ciprofloxacin, can change your heart rate, too. It’s more likely to happen if you have heart disease.

    Cough, Cold, and Allergy Medicines
Many over-the-counter decongestants have pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine. These ingredients can cause heart palpitations or raise your blood pressure.

    Thyroid Medicine
If your thyroid doesn’t make enough of a certain hormone (a condition called hypothyroidism), you may take a drug called levothyroxine (Levothroid, Levoxyl, Synthroid) to replace that hormone. A fast heartbeat is a possible side effect of that drug.

    Antidepressants
Certain medicines used to treat depression can raise your heart rate. They include serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) such as desvenlafaxine, duloxetine, and venlafaxine, and tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline, clomipramine, desipramine, and others.

    Supplements
Some supplements can trigger a fast or irregular heartbeat. Examples include bitter orange, valerian, hawthorn, ginseng, and ephedra.

    What to Do
Talk to your doctor if you notice any changes in your heart rate. If it’s happening because of a medicine you take, your doctor can make some changes that should help:

    Change your dose.
Switch you to a different medicine.
Change to how you take a medicine. For example, you may have fewer side effects if you breathe in a medication instead of taking it as a pill or liquid.
Your doctor can also tell you which over-the-counter medicines are less likely to cause heart rhythm problems.

If you have a heart problem, talk to your cardiologist (your heart doctor) before you take any prescription or over-the-counter medicines. Some medicines and supplements can cause serious complications on their own or when you take them with other medicines.

Dude, man...It is not about drugs that can cause tachycardia and arrhythmia. Shit, pretty much every drug can cause that, if the person taking it is sensitive to the medication...

It is about the method used on that trial. 4 times the effective dose? The trial OD'd the second group of patients, and killed like 9 of them. MORONS!

Family member was given 200mg along with zpack after testing positive for covid. She was home in 2 days. I don't understand this obsession with trying to downplay this drug. You idiots realize this is an OTC drug in most countries? You can buy this for 25 rupees in india. People eat it like candy. This drug is also prescribed when going overseas on a trip. Doctors often suggest taking it as a precaution since the half-life is around 22 days.

It's pure Trump Derangement Syndrome, nothing else. Thousands upon thousands have already taken this drug for covid, and millions have taken it for other conditions. How about this, if you catch Covid, don't take it. Deny it, just because Trump mentioned it on tv (the drug was already being used by doctors two weeks prior to trump mentioning it).

The study used a much higher dose then American/European docs use. AND, they didn't use Azyithromicin and Zinc.

It's funny how a drug - FDA-approved 65 years ago - with 5.5 million scrips written per year in USA alone, suddenly suddenly suddenly, becomes "ultra dangerous".

Purely political. Democrats want people to die, so the economy will tank and Trump gets voted out. That's all this is. This is how sick and degenerate Left-Wingers are, like TonyStark. They literally want to withhold a 65 year old FDA-approved drug from people with Covid19, so they die.

    So they can have power.

  7. Tony did not tell you not to take it , in fact if you asked him if you can take it i'm pretty certain he'd say ''whatever . . . . take lots of it if you wish.''

If I wanted thousands to die I would support Trump.

If I wanted multi trillion dollar deficits I would support Trump.

If I wanted a net loss of jobs and record unemployment I would support Trump.

If I wanted low stock market gains I would support Trump.

If I want N Korea to massively expand their nuclear and ICBM arsenal I would support Trump.

If I wanted Iran to build nuclear weapons I would support.

If I wanted years of investigations and impeachment I would support Trump.

If I wanted the most corrupt administration in history I would support Trump.

If I wanted a president the majority of Americans didn't approve of their entire presidency I would support Trump.

If I wanted the worst president ever I would support Trump.

I would support Trump if I wanted these results because those are Trumps results.

you could have substituted "Obama" for "Trump" in almost every single one of those and you'd have been equally correct.
