slow trading computer

  1. Overtrading is one of the biggest downfalls of a trader...

So I guess it's kind of a blessing in disguise that your computer trades so slow.

    1. You will likely see only a small increase in speed over your present machine.. and that will mostly be at boot, shutdown, and loading apps. Most trading apps do their work in RAM.. once the programs are done loading, the CPU sits idle most of the time (unless you KNOW your CPU is busy, of course).

    2. For trading, ANY of our choices will be just fine.

    3. You probably need only 1GB of RAM. Check your Task Manager when all of your trading apps are loaded and see how much RAM you are actually using.

  4. you didn't mention quad core,

    of the choices given...

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6600 (4MB L2 Cache,2.4GHz,1066 FSB) [add $150 or $5/month1]

    XPpro AVOID Vista!!!

    2GB minimum Ram

Video card with dual or quad output which supports high resolution monitor

Keep it clean... trading only and your current set-up for surfing...

Most monitors accept dual input, so if you want to use your nice new monitors for your surfing rig, you just need additional cables ..

with that said... Gnome will no doubt be able to focus you to specifics...

    good luck...
    edit:
    I type too slow... :)

i just build new computer for same reason. it's will cost me about 150 bucks after all rebates and discounts like 20% off, if you are using paypal and rebates. fit's just fine into my old case.
not the fastest one, but extremely quiet and runs very cool. i'm very impressed, when i saw power consumption under 55 watts and CPU temp around 20-25C. Everything is cool-a CPU,PSU and hard drive. i did not install any video card, using one on board. parts are ridiculously cheap today. Building new computer are actually cost same, as RAM upgrade for old one.
