From John Mauldin: OpenTable this last weekend in Miami actually showed higher restaurant numbers than it did before 2020. That wasn't the rest of the country. But Miami was certainly willing to party. Dems are getting the US back out of the Trump toilet-and inflation has been a pack of lies same as non farm payrolls, for decades.
Most people me included have little memory of the last real inflation in the 1970’s . I recall gas going to $1.25 in 1978. All most of us have really known is slow price rises over years . Were the shit hits the barrel is if bond rates go wild . Then it’s really game over . Rates have been held down artificially for 15 yrs . The fed is making a huge mistake not tapering .
I went to pickup lumber at HD the other day. A sheet of plywood normally $20 is now $60. The rising cost for materials is real now not a future expectation.
Yep. The 20% Trump Tariff, mountain pine beetle, and lately the increasing demand for new housing in America has greatly increased the cost of lumber. Were we also talking about inflation? I'm sure that has a small effect as well.
Supply becoming an issue aswell, client of min 14day delivery of special items electronics, becoming 3months, so any in country suddenly became worth more than RRP. Everyone in the UK is thinking lockdowns are over and all back to normal, little do they understand the damage is done world wide and we'll descend quickly into socialism and facism, they won't start seeing it yet, but the shops are empty then take aways places are slow and the money is running out, it's all going to pay the credit cards debts that are maxed out, pay 400 interest 300, 100 left for the month, repeat, that's the most people, all went to Amazon dumb asses.
