Then is there a conspiracy going on with Big Fruit? I mean, all mainstream sources claim the same thing about the healthful benefits of fruit and that fiber helps control spikes.
OK, so their 180 would be 190 w/o the fiber? Yeah, it's a f******* scam. Like the food pyramid. Put on a CGM and drink 4 oz of OJ. Eat a banana 24 hours later and compare the results. Be fasted for at least two hours.
I understood your point being one of context. And I accept the numbers you quoted from the CGM. But I didn't think that health authorities would present a false picture by at least implicitly lying about the materiality of the moderating effect of fiber. Regardless, how is it then that my average glucose numbers are very good despite my fruit consumption? A genetic anomaly?
A neighbor kid has one. They came over to the house and I offered some of my kids Dino nuggets. No BBQ or anything; plain. They seem lightly breaded and innocuous. The kid's CGM hit 170 and they were shocked. 6 nuggets. Just under 300 kcals if I recall. I know where talking about fruit and you jokingly mentioned the fruit lobby but it's a scam. Nobody would eat the stuff if they saw their readings.
Truth be told, this was above my paygrade even before you dove into the weeds. I don't know what to make of it.
This I know. I didn't always know it. But I've known it for years, ever since the mainstream medical community asserted it. (I'm more of a follower than a trail blazer.)
My A1C is 4.4-4.5 trailing. Gets worse with age if diet is unch. We're all dead in the end but it's outrageous what is spoon fed to the public.
