yea surf... kryptonic and tracker have been around forever I guess. I knew of the Bones Brigade and Stacy Peralta long before I heard of Alva actually. Maybe that had to do with Hawk... not sure but it seemed more prominent in the mags back when I was ripping.
LOL. I am still younger than you guys, started in 1995. Baggy pants, small wheels, rap music, sketchy pressure flips, "Mouse" and "trilogy" on repeat on my VCR. You had to mimic an effortless Tom Penny like style to look sick. When you think about it, it was one of the worst era( except for Penny )...LOL
Where you guys wearing fluorescent gear and hair extensions ala hosoi in the 80's? I am so sad I missed this.
also from around mid 90's... some Brooklyn banks footage i found.. cool east coast footage here, new school... the style is not as baggy these days lol
gotta love how zoo york crew gets to cali and goes right to in-n-out burger... good stuff. I think I ate that shit every other day when I was there. thats it im out... beautiful day over here, gotta hit the beach...
i can still ollie, kickflip, pop-shuvit etc with style.... it's like riding a bike. took like 20-30 minutes of warming up. 3 flip however wasn't going too well. and hardflips I busted my ass... all together not bad. no way in hell am I ready for concrete bowls lol would take weeks maybe months.
I never completely mastered the ollie, so my skate progression got stuck in the pre-ollie days and i still have the torn ligaments from 20 years ago to prove it. LOL!
lol surf, well those oldschool decks were a bit harder but still... ollie is like the fundamental move... you HAVE to ollie just to ride around. it's never too late unless you can't walk.
