No, we should not. That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. The US does not need to spend 700 billion a year on a military if our biggest adversary spends 10% of that and would still wipe us out in a all out war.
You are fantasizing again. If the U.S. wants to maintain our position in the world we need a large military that can support multiple conflicts and deployments. The primary intent of the U.S. federal government when our country was founded was to have a common U.S. military. It is appropriate for a bulk of federal government funds to be spent for this purpose.
Not much, they just have a small gpd,687 billion, less than The US defence budget.GWBs dumb ass chart makes it seem like they could kick some major ass but they would get slaughtered by many countries lower then them on that chart.
Yeah.... right... let's go back to the days when the French were kicking our butts and demanding concessions in the quasi-war and the British were burning Washington D.C. in the War of 1812. We built up and funded our military over many decades to prevent this type of nonsense from ever occurring again. BTW -- -the U.S. military accounted for the majority of the federal budget expenditures in the first century of our nation's history.
Thats exactly what you did.Obviously the founders didn't think we should be spending as much on defense as you do.
The top priority was the U.S. Presidents and Congresses in the first 100 years of our history was to increase our military spending. If they did not do this the modern U.S. would not be in existence.
Nobody is kicking Russia's ass and they only spend 70 billion a year to accomplish that. You however support spending 700 billion and trump is now increasing it to 745 billion. Clinton only spent 300 billion a year and we were safe.
We better be spending more than the next 5 countries combined. We never want to fall back on the days of Clinton when his under-funding of the military allowed our enemies to advance their agenda of making the U.S. unsafe.
They are doing that while we spend 600-700 billion.Bush increasing defense spending from 300 billion to 700 billion didnt stop North Korea from getting nukes. Its not stopping Russias or Chinas foreign policy goals either.
