My EUR/USD trades are floated both long and short so being "bullish" or "bearish" doesn't apply to my EUR/USD trading structure. "Floating" trades I open is one of my own particular system methods still in testing. One other thing about your question... I try to keep questions on this journal limited to trading in general and off of me in particular, thanks. Sam
On Trading Well This is a short lesson on what I think is one of the keys to making consistently good trades. Take it for what it's worth. Balance. Having your account money (compartmentalized - as per Dr. Elder) and money management techniques (account cap to trade size ratio), risk and risk evaluation, probability and luck factoring, determinations, assessments and judgments, SLs and TPs all balanced in proper proportion can mean the difference between remaining in the game to succeed, versus having your account blown apart before you have the chance to progress.
Not falling for it ... just light entertainment when bored. I read a couple of the posts .... some of the points are valid ... if you can pull them out of all the noise. Basically, for new traders or people considering a trading career, IMHO the only people that can put forward valuable advice are those that actually trade for a living using their own capital. An Institutional traders perspective is of limited value to an independent since many of their techniques dont really apply to smaller accounts - although some techniques are independent of account size. Anyway, an entertaining diversion .....
Right now i am just trying to get a system up and running, and doing it! I understand your time is money but i was wondering if you can just nudge me in the right direction. Basically my system is SMA and Support and resistance levels! Thank you again for any help you can give!
I'm going to address the disrespectful assertions posted by prt_systems and USMCinfantry. Magna has expressly asked that this beginners' journal NOT be turned into a flame war. He will simply close it if flamers are answered by me. For the sake of the benefits that many readers receive by the points and principles contained in my journal written by me, I am not going to respond directly to prt_systems and USMCinfantry. Because that will simply give them more "fuel" as Magna says, resulting in this journal being burned down as others have been in the past due to flamers. The core issues posted by prt_systems and USMCinfantry are: My not posting private, personal, detailed and intimate live trading account numbers. And, that nothing I write is of any value; also that I am accused of being an "institutional" trader by prt_systems. The only reasons I do not choose to post my personal information is because 1). It is not necessary; 2). No one (who is not a moron) asks (including myself) for members to post their private information on a public message board. This includes private trading account information, personal phone numbers, home address, bank account information and so on. Secondly, USMCinfantry is a flamer. He flamed me in the forex forum and I answered his issues there entirely and completely. I also asked him specific questions about trading tactics in general that he never responded to because he has no idea how to deal with particular situations that traders typically encounter. Yet he disses me now on my journal by continuing to demand that I post my private account information on a public message board. Well, that's his/her problem. Anybody interested in anything beyond what I have posted on ET is welcome to email me for more specific details as I have stated a number of times. Additionally, I have an open trading platform being updated regularly in a FX contest I started on my other journal. The competition is open to all. It runs for one-year. Specific and exact trading account numbers are clearly seen for demonstration purposes. prt_systems' bitch is that he sees everything I post here as mere entertainment with no value whatsoever. He admits to reading only "a couple of the posts." Secondly, he lies about me, saying that I am an "institutional" trader. His first bitch first: If anyone sees entertainment value in my posts, great! I am a practicing comedy writer on the side so I am glad when others enjoy reading what I write. Secondly, I am NOT an institutional trader. I am a private trader. He is just coming off with those accusations to flame me. These two... posting wonderboys... have now been answered. I will not address their issues another time. If they continue to bring up these or other stupid issues then that is accounted by me as additional flaming. It is then up to Magna to deal with it or not deal with it, in whatever way he chooses to. ET has been asked to get a real Journal/Blog type set-up on numerous occassions. One in which journals' authors have the ability to self-maintain their own journal and delete flamers' posts. To date, ET has not installed this set-up. Again, that is something out of my hands. I cannot prevent anyone from posting lies, flames and spam on my journals to distract readers from getting benefits posted by me. All flamers do is create "noise" to drown out well-intentioned lessons, tips and pointers about trading written my myself. Readers, please keep this in mind. Thank you. fxskalper
New Standards Since I've labored intensely on ET to help provide assistance to traders of all levels, I am setting some new standards for my replying to ANYTHING and ANYONE that I see as being a flame or a flamer. A flame/flamer can always been known by a common trait. They only post to get themselves into the spotlight. They post not valid questions/comments, only to confuse and bring doubt to the readers' minds. Therefore, my new standard in dealing with flamers (those who are truly flaming/flamers) is to 100% disregard them and their stupid questions/comments. Therefore, from now on, it is up to the readers to decide for themselves what they want to see as being legitimate versus what is utter nonsense. I am not being sucked into the fold of "proving" anything I post on ET anymore to anyone. Mainly because even after I have proved time after time, and replied with successful counter-posts time after time, flaming LOSERS continue to flame just for the hell of it. Just so they can try to get someone like me to even respond to them. THAT gives them their sense of power they don't have in their own life/trading abilities. Therefore, readers, understand that from now on, you are on your own to decide whatever you want to decide. You want to listen to morons and idiots, fine. I will respond to serious questions for trading assistance to advance ONLY (and continue to be happy to do so) but to everything else being posted on this journal, on polls about me, and on posts against me... they will be ignored. You can read into that whatever you want. You can now expect lies, flames and false statements to be made about me and to abound. Because I am not addressing them any longer. Coinz PS: Magna helped me come to this decision. PSS: Now watch the worthless flamer morons come out....
Hey Kastro. So, your system is based on SMA and S/R levels. It sounds like you are not satisfied with the results. When I first started trading forex, a guy wrote me and swore SMA/SR levels was the system to use. Averages lines crossing averages lines somehow magically produced buy and sell "signals." Similar with S/R levels. I suppose for some people these things work, and for others they don't. My "nudging" for you, if you insist on trading fx, would be to go into the direction of simplicity: Move away from ineffective complexities. Then continue building (your system) from there. But be assured: FX trading is not for everyone. Very few are able to get consistent profitable results, even after years of trying. It may be that trading forex is not what you're cut out to do: If that is the case then be smarter than the rest who lose, and go with it. Like the scene from The Outlaw Josey Wales, where the bounty hunter who faces off with Josey tells him, "a man has to make a living somehow," indicating he's about to draw on Josey. Josey says, "Ain't much of a living in dying, boy." The guy didn't heed those words, drew on him anyway, Josey blew him away. Think it over. Best, gsr
