Six biblical truths about money...

Discussion in 'Religion and Spirituality' started by expiated, Mar 24, 2019.

  1. You are twisting and turning your words to such degree I wonder how you can keep up with your own confusion...

You said and I quote "I put up the Hitch quote 'cause as far as involving science goes, no evidence for God, God can be dismissed"

I responded "It's incredibly stupid to say that one can dismiss something for lack of evidence. Plus this is as unscientific a statement as could possibly be. It would disqualifyall theories and possibilities. I hope you misquoted or wrongly paraphrased Hitchens here. "

And you are wrong we, already debated this at length, there is no evidence of a big bang. Zero evidence.

I stand by my opinion, your comment I quoted is quite stupid and makes no sense at all.

  2. It's funny how this ALWAYS happens, one debates with others back and forth, some low points some high points, and finally compromised agreement and people are just about to walk away all agreeing they had a valuable discussion and bam, in comes the one guy who just can't let go, who believes he is smarter than everyone else and who thinks his views are always the one everyone else must hold else all others are inferior. In fact he starts the same issues that have long been settled among the rest of the crowd, and in his clumsy way and with his big ass he pulls the entire table cloth and all the glasses and dishes off the table. Congratulation, you brought us back to point zero.

@userque, can't agree more that the only way to deal with some who just don't get it is to take it with humor and laugh it off.

I'm sorry you feel that way. It seems sometimes no reasonable debate can be had with those who want to believe in Gods no matter what.
The scientific evidence is galaxy redshift, microwave background, the predicted creation of elements, travel of light looking back in time. The scientific evidence for big bang is overwhelming. Why would you say such a stupid thing like there is no evidence?

It's a shame as it is an interesting subject. Any way good luck to you, hopefully you didn't take too much offense.
Seeing how we fundamentally disagree you were at least gracious enough to acknowledge agreement previously. Kudos for that at least:)

They get it. They'll never admit it. Hence: a troll.

Nothing new. Happened long ago when the second in command bs'ed one third of the troops to rebel. Bs'ing is nothing new.

I get it alright. I get that the history of the universe can be traced back highly scientifically to a decillionth a second after a singularity called big bang. I get that for thousands of years people have put God/Creators into gaps of knowledge when they didn't understand things and which science had not yet explained. I get that science doesn't do that but rather seeks more knowledge and understanding of how the universe actually works in reality to better answer such questions. I get that saying things like 'you can't prove God doesn't exist' is as meaningless and pointless and as much cop out as saying 'you can't prove God doesn't not exist'. I get inserting a Creator because you don't know, questions nothing and answers nothing, is blind faith and I get how science doesn't do that and so is not faith at all, but prediction, proposition and proposal of probabilities based on what is known and what does work. I get while questions still remain as to what conditions were at the start of the universe, quantum mechanics in agreeing fully with experiment, does confirm fundamental particles are created in quantum fields of random fluctuation, so matter can thus have come into existence naturally without violating any of the laws of physics and without the need of a Creator God. I do get I don't have to believe science is proof or even true, just that in all probability and likelihood due to how fabulously successful science is in observing, predicting, experimenting and confirming these things, the scientific explanation is the most rational, reasonable and practical understanding, which again separates it from being a faith. I do get how troll is the best some people can manage to counter any argument or all the wealth of science that does show how and why no need for a Creator God to start the universe stands and therefore I also get just how closed minded and intolerant that makes some people with religious faith.

    "... 02 of 10
    The Persistent Debate Troll
This type of troll loves a good argument. They can take a great, thoroughly researched and fact-based piece of content, and come at it from all opposing discussion angles to challenge its message. They believe they're right, and everyone else is wrong. You'll often also find them leaving long threads or arguments with other commenters in community comment sections, and they're always determined to have the last word – continuing to comment until that other user gives up. ..."

Read how the simple assertions that neither creationism nor spontaneous creation can be proved; and that belief in either requires a measure of faith; caused the atheism trolls to attack.

Follow the trollish antics from the beginning. Notice how they progress. Notice how they flip-flop.

10 Types of Internet Trolls You'll Meet Online
    The Missing Category
    "The Persistent Troll-Accuser-Troll.

This type of troll repeatedly calls others Troll by posting the same Troll accusation message over again, just because someone dared to question something they once claimed. Instead of just laughing it off or walking away they are determined to have the last word, but too lazy to submit reasonable argument in support, the Pot-Calling-The-Kettle-Black-Troll loves being in a circle jerk of thumbs up likes from any other who quite unjustifiably feels their personal beliefs have been violated by reasonable counter view."

Read how science is not about proof but probability, and how scientifically supported researched based spontaneous creation is simply more likely than something non-scientifically researched make belief such as creationism.

and that probability is not dependent on belief and so not a faith but rather the quality of being probable to how the real world works; causing many a theism troll to feel attacked and persecuted enough to start calling troll to anyone just for pointing out the flaming obvious.

  9. Wait, did your forefathers not steal it from the indigenous "Indian" population after they infected them with rare diseases they brought from Europe after they were generously supplied with food by said indigenous population? Just saying that it depends from whose perspective one looks at things.

I am rather conservative leaning but find the entire concept of "property" to be completely overrated. Especially as Christian unless one is completely mislead by prosperity gospel we are here on this earth first and foremost to glorify God and then to be good stewards and kingdom builders. God blessed Abraham with wealth but Abraham left all his land in an instant when asked to move. I guess nobody would be able to do so today because we attach such enormous importance to property.
