Yeah, the resolution is good for me. I think it's 3440 x 1440. I leave the Xboxing to my 11-year old son upstairs on a big TV. I will occasionally go up there and play a few rounds of Call of Duty with him, only to get my ass handed to me.
I was looking at the 43 inch dell to replace 4 older monitors however if it dies its one big monitor about $1000 if one of my older monitors dies $200 unless they all crap out the same day I think I'm better off with my 4 monitor set up
Well, I don't have that problem since I am not paying for it myself (well, I guess I am at the end, but in a very diluted form). But I can only choose my setup this one time
mine 1920 x 1080 the monitor I was looking at is 4k I'm not sure what the difference is in how it would look close up
I saw an article on CNET recently and basically what they said was that the difference between 1080p and 4k isn't really visible UNLESS you are sitting close to the screen, which is what most traders really do. In other words, 4k is what you want when you're sitting really close like we do when we're trading.
Since a few years I have a 65" 4k tv to replace my 3 screens. So happy with it. Curved TV would have been even better. Easy and so practical. For me definitely the best solution.
Using a 40" 4k samsung that cost me <$300 and it kicks ass. If you want to be a sucker and pay up for a 'real monitor' , be my guest.
Yes, large single display monitors are on way in and multi-monitor setups are on the way out. Reasons for this include the increase in screen resolution, the larger single display is now a substitute for a 3-4 24" monitor setup and the software used to manage your multitasking and tiling of windows has improved to a point where there is now little to no trade-off.
