Yeh, sorta. I think technically she is revered or venerated as opposed to being a saint because the muslims don't have saints and - her alleged son Jesus is a prophet in Islam. Mary is not a prophet. It's complicated. If someone wants to get persnickety they could argue that the Sufi's are muslims and they have saints. It's fine with me, except not all sufi's are islamic and the other muslim sects treat them as heretics. They are to Islam as Unitarians are to Christianity. I would like to say that it is minor point and not something that someone would get all worked up about and strap a suicide vest on and go out do something foolish but- unfortunately- it is. I would not want to be the one that tells a Wahabi muslim that Mary is a Saint. Tricky world out there. Some people need to chill out.
