Nice one. One of my first career full time job was working in a hardware store. The retail hardware assoc, had a "Phd" program for hardware. So I took that course, graded, pretty intensive, I think that was about 6 months to a year for the course. I have my Phd in hardware (sounds lame but...) I really like the hardware business and eventually wanted to buy a hardware store. Low risk of failure business. Hardware stores just never went out of business. About the time I could get serious about buying a hardware store, I could see the writing on the wall and the numbers on the books and ta da, a business of the past, where is your local hardware store now?
