If you trade every zero line cross and every ma cross you will get creamed. I really think some descretionary skills are needed to make this work.
Exactly.. but for this system to be profitable there needs to be 100% ground rules to follow and no guessing allowed at which signals to take or not take.
Then in that case isnt it better to just automate it with strict stop losses and gain limits. As you can see in my transactions....The automated system covers itself when the macd crosses from above when you are LONG. SO I do not wait for a full 20 point profit and get out whenver the cross occurs. There are too many transactions today. I just wanted to confirm that others also saw these patterns at those times. I just wanted to confirm that I have programmed it correctly or not. If anybody could confirm these trades at those times, will be of great help for me. I am going to modify this system further to take less trades.
If that were the case there would be no need for you and I. Just put it on the computer and let it do the work. I doubt seriously if anyone will automate a crossover system. Here is one example from this afternoon. You have a ma crossover with the trend around 14:55 but just by looking at the chart you can see the market is moving sideways and there is no way I am taking this trade. I suppose you could write a rule to cover this situation but how many different situations are there? You would have a thousand rules before it was over with. p.s. I understand where your coming from. I, too, want the rules to be exact as possible but I dont think 100% is feasable.
mbatrader I dont trade exactly the way the system is outlined is the reason I am not answering your question. I do not trade every cross. I want to enter near the bottom or top of a pullback and if I cannot find this situation I pass on the trade.
Trader 28, could you please go over indicators and parameters of your Kwikpop set up? I have the software and trying put in use again after 5 years of purchase. First few years they were jumping from one suggestion to another with e-mini S&P and i gave up on them. Thanks
My chart consists of TSKP 2min expert advisor, TSKPAUTOSTOP andf TIGHTSTOP (3sma +2 offset) all on price chart with MACD in seperate window
Can you tell me what 3sma + 2 offset refers to? I have read this thread through and I have not seen a description of it. Thanks in advance.
T28, many thanks! Kevin, my question was specifically about software Kwikpop and answer was as well about the same software. In general in MA property window you might have a following options, depending on the charting software you're using: Offset and Shift in the Parameters frame. Trader28 referring to Offset, in the software i use it is Shift, look at your options and see if you can move MA back a little by applying -2. Please view attach. Also a tip for searching a term in a whole posting: Click on print option on the top and than apply Find option for Edit menu to search for a word.
