  1. I don't know if you daytrade but if you do then you can trade 7 contracts at global futures with 3500.00

  2. I agree, you need to stay with paper trading until you can follow your rules and your account value goes up over time.

I did 4 demo trades today, and the 2 that did not work were due to the fact that I took the trades in between the pivot lines instead of waiting for it to reach the support and/or resistance plus give me a 2nd reason to take the trade short or long.

Overall a winning day in the demo account since although I took those trades, I reduced the size on them since I was not sure they would be good, but increased the size on the trades that I felt more certain of. I also agree that if you want to let a position run, sell 1/2 at your normal target and then bring up your stop loss so that you are then playing with the market's money.

I don't mind taking a losing trade but I want to make sure I am both following my own rules each time I trade and that the demo account is increasing in money over time before I go back to real money on my system. Good luck with your trades today.

Here's this morning's chart. Not any worthwile signals IMHO. This is Central time, so add an hour to get New York time.

1- The early morning ZLC at about 8:30, looks like it would've stopped out if placed right at the cross.

2- ZLC at 9:50 looks to be a loser as well.

3- the rest of the morning just looks all muddy'd

  5. Jeez I've made a fortune this week... market has been giving money away... and in a FOMC week too.... anyone that didn't make bucks this week needs to strap the McDonalds apron and hat on and consider the many lucrative opportunities in the fast food industry

  6. Are you serious. I will bet "Trader28 did quite well on that opening move. I wish I had been trading ER2 instead of YM as I see two nice longs there. I had one short in YM at 10:45 but was only good for 10 pts when it timed out.

edit: I guess we posted at the same time. I just wanted to add that even in YM the mornings have done pretty well the last few days.

T28, How did you do this morning though? I wouldn't disagree with Bearbelly's remarks you probably made out great on the moves, but for a novice considering this approach, this morning's activity is iffy at best.

  8. Well here's my morning, not only did I have the Zero Line Cross but I got 2 great re-entries off the 3SMA +2 offset

Being an FOMC day I only shot for 10 ticks even though there was a lot more on some of them, but most FOMC days it's better to target less until the statement is released

Not bad then, I can see how the 3SMA +2 offset serves well for re-entries. For the morning's ZLC, however, did you wait for that pull back after the big spike, or were you in before that? Thanks for all you help

  10. I got in after the spike... it was the only trade I really sweated because it may have blown straight back down, but you have to take em if they are there... I got out pretty quick after 10 ticks though... of course the bastard went 20 but thats trading
