Yeah, forgot to mention that. By zero rules, I meant MACD crossing above or below zero helping with momentum depending on the direction of the trade. But yeah, as far as the actual crossing of zero, really doesnt seem to work with these particular settings. Could you explain what marketdelta 2min footprints are? I have no idea what they are or how to use them...
that's what i meatn too. market delta is a pretty hot topic if you search around but to save you time , click on the following link and on the 3rd video it get it straight from the horses mouht: http://marketdelta.com/recordings.aspx get the free trial. you'll see the volume load up and the delta movinv in the direction of the trade just before teh 2min macd hits the zero line. pretty amazing. MD also opens up more trade opportunities. im a scalper so i do a hit and run for 2 ticks - 1.5 points on teh ES. mostly 2 ticks which occurs within teh first 4 mins. 1+ points only near teh zero line and only if the candle surges or tanks without lag.
i'm a rocket engineer..... but that marketdelta is a bridge to far for me. what happened to the simple method? we started with macd and 9 ema....
These simple systems always turn out to be about 25% system and 75% descretion, not that theres anything wrong with that.
olan, you dont need MD. however, the MD footprint chart just clarifies and helps me enter, exit or avoid a trade with confidence. as a scalper, its very easy to overtrade, cut my losses too quick and then revenge trade. to give you an idea of how i feel ever since using the 2 &5 min footrpint chart along with 2min chart described in the simple method, watch what happens when FRY hits teh 100th cup of coffee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8Oc_1urxQw&mode=related&search=
It's been about one month since Trader28 started this very popular and interesting thread. Thanks to him for doing that. It certainly got me back to thinking about some basic concepts in TA. So now that a month has passed are people still trading this "system" successfully? I have been (simulator) trading it and things went well early on but I have been hit by a lot of losses over the past 2 weeks or so and am now in the red. I think this has mainly been due to a number of days where the ER did not trend well and I was tricked into entering trades in a choppy market. Anybody else still trading this thing who would care to share their experience with it?
Anyone care to share their programing of this system? I believe a couple of folks have backtested it with poor results. I am just starting to use AmiBroker and any help modeling would be appreciated.
