Hi there, Sim trading the SPM 'Classic' system today. Have attached my efforts so far.... T28, how does this compare to your trades? Any comments? Avoiding entry after wide range bars might be a good idea - or? Any help much appreciated. Cheers, es175
In a strong trend watch for price to dip below 3SMA+2 then pop back above price, you can use that as a re-entry, everything else looked pretty good
another simple trade is the volatility index VIX trade as described by Larry Connor (10 day SMA), check it out (google Larry Connor). I am not associated with him, but i think it can be quite reliable if used properly. I mentioned it on my blog this morning http://lauristonletter.blogspot.com/
T28, thanks for the feedback. Too bad the trades I posted worked out at break even minus comms. You mentioned before that you apply a bit of discretion to the system. When would you typically skip a signal? If there's a slow moment in Aus, it would be great to see a chart with your trades from today.... (I can feel a steve46 comment waiting in the wings for that request.... )
Cheers! Looks like we're using quite different settings for the MACD. Your X marks look a lot better than mine. Not sure whether they represent an entry, an entry then exit, or Stop And Reverse trades though. In any case, thanks for posting the chart.
Standard MACD settings 12 26 9 Arrows and crosses are a part of an expert advisor I use, I don't really pay any attention to them, or the bullish/bearish band at the top
Strange... I've got MACD set up on 2 min charts with 12SMA, 26SMA and a 9EMA average. The plots on our two charts look like different animals though. Agree? Probably begining to sound like a pest but it would be interesting to know where you traded today. Just trying to compare notes... Listening to this guy earlier today. Funny bastard. http://www.rude.com.au/
