Jack Broz, A Guide to Reading Order Flow http://www.cbot.com/cbot/pub/cont_detail/0,3206,1070+18718,00.html My mentor, or at least as close as you can get to one from halfway round the world... The great man has some sage advice on trading by the book
.....just the opposite! it seems strange...but if you have more bids than offer ( a ratio 2:1 for example) the market will go down not up! If you have more ask (same ratio..2/1), the market will go up! who is that guy!!??? LOL
I have seen the same thing. I haven't found it as effective (the 2:1 ratio of bids/offers or vice versa) in the ER2, but it seems to be quite effective in the ES. It seems that when there's a 2:1 ratio one way or the other, the market has to go towards the heftier side in order to reach equilibrium again. Yes, it's counter-intuitive. You would think that the side that's twice as large as the other would offer greater resistance to price movement. There's a trader who discusses this concept on this thread here: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68098
Great read! I scalp stocks based almost solely on this "order flow" but the level 2 is so wacky for the ER's i never thought to apply it to futures.
He's the guy that never trades less than 200 contracts... I think you need to read the part about bluffs and fake outs from the heavy hitters
Read this thread carefully.... http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68098 I am a pure scalper Enjoy
Already have and all of those bozo's bar one guy are just as clueless as you as to why it appears that way, here is the only post worth it's weight from the one guy that "got it" "it's not just 'someone', since it's a truckload size it must come from a big guy and big guy is the guy that definitely can move the market. OK so now we know who is that someone, the next logical question is, is he seller or buyer? if he is seller does he want to sell at lower or higher price? if he is buyer does he want to buy at lower or higher price? what would you do if you are big guy, what would you do if your name is Don Corleone " And regardless of all that you can hardly mouth off about Jack until you are putting on 500 contracts at a time like he does all day
Cazza..... Dear o dear!!! What an attitude to have at this time of year....Goodwill to all etc...no takers?
