    snarly,

You should probably take those questions and start another thread with Jack. As big as this thread has become it has stayed surprisingly on-topic, but if you get Hershey started it will spiral out of control into an incomprehensible mess. I am not trying to be overly critical of JH (he may have the holy grail for all I know), only that I have never understood any of his posts, and they are the antithesis of "simple profitable method". Do a search and you will find plenty of his reading material to keep you busy for several lifetimes.

Be careful with all of the "tweaking", there are no magic settings and you will drive yourself crazy trying to get an indicator to signal every move perfectly. Adding extra indicators, constantly changing the parameters, and deviating from the rules will kill everything: the simplicity, the profitablility, and the method.

  2. Wareagle,

Thanks for the suggestion! I think your right about tweaking. We just spent the last three months tweaking and adjusting
T28 system and we keep coming back to the original T28 system.

After all, it is a Simple Profitable Method.... kind of....

    Thanks Wareagle...

in slow market, by the time it cross zero line, it's already running out of gas, thus you might want to start looking at MACD cross. But you have to come up with some rule to avoid taking on too many false cross.

Perhaps use the zero line cross when ADX is above a certain level and MACD cross when it's at a lower level.

  6. Well this is the problem with most trend systems, even short term ones. The best filter I know of is your eyeballs. Is price making nice swings or is it just jogging along in a narrow channel. If you are looking for zero line crosses the last couple of days you were looking for trouble, imho. I am referring to YM tho, ER2 might have had some better swings.

  7. Just common sense BB, Turkey week is always a nightmare for this system, there were still quite a few good re-entries on the ER2 though with 3SMA+2, I tend to fall back on those as a safe trade when the market is slow, it has the advantage of confirming a decent move before you take the trade

  8. Here's a great example of the above... the morning from hell... (big hitters taking 4 day weekend)

but a bit of patience and the 3SMA+2 and 20 ticks no problem!

  9. Is this thread dead now or is there anybody still trading this "system"? I'm still trying to get consistent using it on the 2 min ER2 but can't quite seem to lock it in profit mode. The best trending and re-entry (short) opportunities were during lunch time today which I normally don't trade so I was sitting on the sidelines. When I did trade I could not seem to differntiate between pull backs and reversals and got beat up pretty badly as a result.

i still use it but on forex and on 15 minutes time frame, I do this since almost 2 month, my account is lightly positive , it is a good thing, many day trader lose money every day, i have stopped losing but i have not started a real growth in my account and still working hard.
The method is working, I use a sma 89 as a filtrer : when i see a long signal i take it only if it happens above the sma 89 , it prevents me from overtrading and trending againt the main trend...
    Good trades too all
