hey is there any products out there that are similar to the ES futures (following the s&p) and has options but is not as high margin like the es ?
What exactly do you consider high margin? Most boutiques offer $500 intraday margin. which is an incredible bargain...until you blow out of course.
Spread it with ym on the close. Take off the ym in the morning. Make sure you get a good price on the ym. Don't be forced into doing something. Keep in mind, you'll be net long or short es.
ES is so watered down now as in 1980s margin was $25,000 on big S&P500 and each nickel was $25 which was smallest tick size. I think the Indexes are generally gifts to retail to get them to trade at such low margins, just about any other instruments are higher, maybe Eurodollar are smaller but limited moves.
??? How will you be net long ES if you are using proper spread ratios? Also "make sure you get a good price on the YM" what exactly does that mean?
