what were the daily moves like when silver and gold went twitchy yrs ago? i guess if iran gets bombed we might see something interesting also. on the other hand if iran decides to play nice, could see a big selloff. asia seems to be silent though,i actually liked using these hrs to trade gold/silver better than reg hrs
I have figured out how to play silver I think of it as an inexpensive nasdaq stock and its big brother gold as an expensive one that never splits ( sorry ... It's not such a funny joke ... its been a wild week P+L wise for me and I need to be silly )
Any comments on the roll that's coming up? May FND is 04/27. Is that, like other commodities, the day people start rolling in size, and should that yield the tightest spreads? I see that there's already some volume and OI developing in July.
The more and more I read, the more I hear that if there's going to be a squeeze, it's going to happen after the ETF announcement.
It's a madhouse. I just scalped me a grand on that latest run up. Looking for places to buy dips, but there simply are none! Anyone have a guess as to when the ETF is going to be approved? And I guess, a second question would be, does this massive run up do anything to undermine a potential approval? Ie, will the SEC look at this and change their mind?
hi ed ... has the price of cash silver been trading over the lead month MAY ? ( a few cents higher ) yes there will be rollover to July ... but I found this interesting if I am seeing accurate numbers on my cash price source for silver hi ivan you could have easily lost a grand ... just as silver closed it dropped like a rock in thin conditions 8-10 cents ... before getting back to where it had been on the close ... as gold rallied regardless ... nice scalp kid ! hi illiquid .... yes last night in Asia trading things were rather illiquid in silver so the MM's kept a safe distance from quoting anything
Quote from 2gtt: July is 13 cents above May - a bit on the high side. So, being short, this is a good time to roll, right? Or is there some risk of a correction in one more than the other against the cash based on what happens on FND (and beyond)?
